I have two brackets.

Heart= UK national champs
Head= UK sweet 16.
Did the same don’t have the heart to ever pick against KY losing not in my DNA but to try and win some prizes I need to make 2 brackets. I think KY loses the 2nd round game against Illinois Texas Xavier. We just don’t have enough healthy horses this year.

I feel confident about the Sweet 16. As long as Butler plays. And it sounds like he will.

Then we're in the Sweet 16 playing Tennessee. That game could go either way. We can definitely win it. We swept them 2-0 in the regular season. But they're a good team and they'll be hungry to prove they can beat us.

Would love it if this could be one of those years where the bracket opens up.

I'm glad we no longer have "no in-game adjustment" Cal. But, counting on our team winning any game is a bit of a challenge. Butler has gotten injured during games several times, as well as others. We have run hot and cold sometimes on the 3 point shooting and only recently has our rebounding somewhat improved. Troy's stats on rebounding is impressive and these games can boil down to basic stats, free throw shooting, etc. Our best offense is up-tempo early shots and in the tournament you do see this tendency of more deliberate offense and with us that has increased our turn-overs.

I can't imagine us losing to Troy but who imagined the past few years? I believe we need a comfortable lead at the half and if that is maintained we will be fine. A close game will be a lot of pressure and not a sure thing.

I'm going Elite 8 if Butler stays healthy and no one else gets injured. Take care of business vs Troy. Kentucky can beat a 12-loss Illinois team, Xavier or Texas who UK had the lead late on the road a month ago while playing without Butler. Tennessee is a good matchup for Kentucky and like a 3rd win. If for some reason Tennessee got upset, I'm still taking Kentucky over Utah St, UCLA or Dwight Perry's Wofford Terriers. It's March Madness, who knows what can happen. Maybe the Zags go on a run and take down Houston on the way. Georgia got a major win a few weeks ago vs Florida so they are capable of beating anyone. It will be tough for Clemson or any team to knock off Houston to reach the Elite 8 before meeting Kentucky. Kentucky/Houston for the Elite 8.

I stopped filling out brackets years ago. Never examined why. Realistically, looking at the bracket, we are a sweet 16 team. After that it's all house money.

I think we're going to have our hands full with Troy. If we do win, the next game will be a coin flip. But if we make the sweet 16 I'll be ecstatic. Popes year one would get an A from me if we somehow make it that far.

I'm picking the round of 32 only because of the injuries and the fact that if Butler goes down again it's probably not going to be a good day and all it could take is one hard foul or falling again on the bad shoulder. With that being said if Butler can stay in the game and we can get some meaningful play from the freshmen then it's the sweet 16 or even the elite 8.
I would say teams are game planning to hit his left shoulder.

I want to say SS, but I hesitate due to no Jrob and assuming 50% Butler for a small while. Our 2nd rd won't be easy and if our shots aren't falling with little to no pg we'll be easy prey.

Hey I hope I'm wrong, 2nd weekend makes me feel like we are on track and it's OK considering. As long as Dook doesn't win. Which I feel pretty good about.

I feel we will have a big chance in the 2nd gane if we make it and just hope we answer the call. Ac3rd game win and these guys are the stuff of legends.

Lord please just no more Oakland, St Peter's and Troy. Just don't f**king add Troy and I'll live. That's where Cal left us. In the gutter, looking for our next fix.

I'd love a full week of March madness, maybe more.💙

I had us in the Sweet 16 and losing to Tennessee but I’ve changed my mind to a second round loss to Illinois.

Either way, I might fill out two brackets but won’t have us going to the final four or anything.

Xavier says hey.
my only bracket has us losing in the second round to xavier. i usually always take uk far, but until i see butler getting sustained minutes, i can’t see it. anything beyond troy is gravy to me.

on the other hand, i would not at all be surprised (if healthier) if we made the regional final. not one bit. i’m hoping for it.

Been doing that for years, here, Tomcats .... one for the heart, one for the mind. If they coincide, we've won the title in those years.... but I rarely ever pencil in or fill out any brackets. I just usually keep them to myself or allude to it in talking.

Funny we won the title in those years my heart and head agreed. (96,98,12) But I was wrong about that, one year (and only one time) too..... guess ya can't guess which year that was..... lol

I feel like Butler is healthy enough to get us to the second weekend. But beyond that would be a tossup for this team, and without a full roster, fully healthy, the ceiling doesn't seem as high. So I temper my expectations accordingly. I still say we will make the sweet sixteen. This team will give the family at least that.

Go Big Blue !
