I don’t have the specific quote, but when discussing changes coming, Stoops spoke about defense being his “forte” and how he can absorb a loss on that side much easier than on the offensive side. This was the UK postgame show, if anyone has a more concrete quote to share.

The tea leaves to read there would say he’s priming us for the loss of Brad White, which we all knew would be one of the more likely coaches to get poached eventually. The answer to this question is probably obvious: how do we feel about that going into next season?

I don’t feel it’s a huge loss. The reason is Stoops ruins his staff and cuts their legs out from under them by interfering.

This is exactly it that’s the reason we’ve had 7 offensive coordinators since 2013 and the offense has been horrid almost every single year and it looks the same with different coordinators. He has his nose too much in it instead of letting his coordinators have their own reins! It’s crazy how every coordinator we’ve had before they got here were exceptional and after they left here exceptional but all mediocre while here. He could fire Hamden today and bring in the best college offensive coordinator in the country and they will look exactly like his 7 other ones he’s had before him!

Our defense just gave up 358 rushing yds to the STINKIN UofL Cardinals!!!!

Something is DEFINITELY going on behind the scenes with not only Brad White's defense, but the ENTIRE coaching staff!!!

Brad may be ready to move on to a bigger program before it gets even UGLIER!!!

It pains me to say that, but we are currently in the middle of a dumpster fire.

If White leaves, let me introduce you to our new DC......

Excited?

I don’t know who replaces him but I for one am glad he is leaving. His passive style kills me. No one in college football gives up more 3rd and long first downs.
Stoops style at FSU was bend but don't break. He was in a weak conference and only needed one or two wins to get a national title.

You go through a season like this changes are likely. Also the other factor is changes coaching opens the door for more players in the portal or that better be the plan.

You can rebuild quickly but that schedule is brutal. The concern is they have basically got who they wanted in the portal. Even if they nail the hires and portal they are screwed because their schedule is legit impossible to manage. Best case is 7-5. Worst case is 4-7.

That is the reality even if they get rid of Stoops. The additions of Texas and Oklahoma plus eliminating divisions makes UK’s path to success extremely challenging.

Is Stoops an option for UCF? It wouldn’t surprise me. UCF has a ton of potential in Big 12.

Missouri, S Carolina and Ole Miss just won 9 regular season games and they are in the same tier as us in the pecking order so it can be done. No more excuses.

I dont really understand any good coach hangin around this dumpster fire.
Sure money may be good, but if I was a competive coach, I'd find a school who actually cared bout winning football.

Forget football....think volley ball, checkers, chess, etc. The football team is in a death spiral.

And was fired at LSU last year

Some of you folks need to not be so knee jerk and throwing all under the bus

White has our D play their butts off vs UGA, Tennessee and very solid Texas

I get UL was disgusting….but on the whole they were at least decent onD given that the offense was a three and out machine

UK may have won 9 games with Missouri's schedule, OM led the nation in portal spending and S. Carolina lucked into the best QB in the SEC. UK didn't get the benefit of any of that.

Some of our fans don't understand what a paper-thin margin separates these teams. Is UK a top level SEC team? Of course not but they're in the group from about 5 down that you could cover with tissue paper. I've said many times that I'd rather be lucky than good. UK needs that to be true now more than ever.

And still better than White.
