RB options in the portal.

An embarrassment of riches. This was obviously an Adidas player, he committed to A&M like 30 minutes after he decommitted from UL. Like A$M needs more resources to recruit.
They do, because most if not all the ones they bought last year have hit the portal to get the heck out of Dodge.

Maybe you should stop trying to be the “thread police” .
LOL. Just stop. Who is being judgmental here? You are talking down. First, judging a freshman RB, then judging me. Personal insults always mean the poster has nothing useful to say. Again, look in your mirror. Can we get back to football now, or are you going to insist on turning this thread into your personal dumpster fire?

Attrition through the portal probably correlates positively with quality of the most recent recruiting class. Especially if a lot of NIL money was spent on the last class. TA&M is a working lab for this.

Sounds like a deal . Since I have nothing useful to say then please stop reading my posts. It’ll tickle the hell out of me .

Get off your freaking high horse . I said he still can . I was just expected more this year . I was thinking he would have a Benny Snell /Chris Rodriguez type of year . You aren’t the only person allowed to have opinions on here.
Why would you think that he would have a year like that with CRod on the team and a not so great OL? I know Benny and Boom both had 1000 yards in the same season, but we were a lot more run heavy and using Wildcat formations back then.

Good point. I didn’t say I was right. Evidently I was expecting to much . Still doesn’t mean I wasn’t disappointed.

Wright still has a lot of potential. Another year in the weight room will help him, he needs to be around #230! He still has three years! I would like to see a bruiser come in from the portal ready to play!

For what it’s worth since that seems to have become the hot topic in this thread, I was also disappointed by Wright this year. It obviously wouldn’t have been fair to expect Heisman contention or anything, and maybe it’s my fault for buying a little too much into the hype about how much the staff loved him in the preseason, but I was still expecting a little more from him in those games where C-Rod sat out than 76 yards on 29 carries, which combined with his struggles in pass protection basically put him out of the rotation altogether for the rest of the year. The good news is that he’s still relatively young and still has a chance to improve.

LOL. When a poster turns the thread personal and gets insulting, I always know he has nothing relevant to the topic to say. Very disappointing in your case, because I believe you actually understand the game of football well. Maybe you should take your own advice.

Yeah. How can anyone expect Wright to have a Snell or CRod type year when CRod is still in the roster? That makes no sense. The kid actually did have a CRod type year like what he had when Snell was on the roster. Smoke had the same issue when CRod became the man.

5 yds a carry is awesome, especially when your line is offense is struggling to learn a new system

Marshown Lloyd from South Carolina entered the portal and is very much a CRod esque player. Surprising but apparently it’s NIL related so I don’t imagine UK will be an option

Really a good player, hope UK's interested.

You have every reason to be dissapointed in Wright....and he was very underwhelming.

1. He had a RS year last year to get acclimated.
2. RB isn't a spot you should need 3 years to prep for....you usually have it or you never do.
3. CRod and Benny were just fine early on and only got better.

Maybe the Oline improves and Wright as well and we have a decent RB....but I was as unimpressed with Wright as I was the Oline to be honest. I expected a ton more and he didn't live up to near any of it.

On most good teams, a guy like Wright should've never been put in the spots he was.

C-Rod suspended
Jefferson hurt
McClain hurt
Smoke inconsistent/hurt

Wright almost cost UK the Florida game with multiple pass protection mishaps.
This. It’s not easy picking up a new blocking scheme, plus being young. Scang put the O in terrible positions with inadequate play calling.

Damn dude , that conversation was 4 days ago . You can rest easy , Rembrandt and I sorted it out. Thanks for your concern though.
Yea sorry I don’t have the time some of you do, good to see you still have the same cheery attitude 4 days later. Thanks for that update

Marshawn Lloyd from S. Carolina entered the portal. They are hoping he goes back home but are afraid he is going to end up in the SEC. Very good back but has had some injuries including a torn ACL

If they don't look like Benny Snell or Chris Rodriguez we don't need them and we're just wasting their time. 1 million percent fact.

You're either a big bruising running back or you're playing for somebody else.
Don't play me with this boom Williams or courvoisier smoke bullshit.

Big and physical or we ain't recruiting them..

If Mark Stoops fails to find a big and physical running back then I know damn well we ain't winning shit next year. That's also 100% fact.

It's also a 1 million percent fact that they should have no problem finding this type of running back because they got two of them in the NFL after this year draft. Should be able to recruit easily a great big physical running back because that's what you do here at Kentucky.

The same for defensive end and the same for quarterback but for some damn reason we don't seem to be able to recruit off our success. And that gets on my damn nerves I'll tell you that right now..

Cuz if you're telling me I had a top 10 pick a defensive end and I've had a top 10 pick at quarterback and I'm not getting my pick of who I want then something's wrong with the recruiting!!!! Don't make me put the indictment down on this coaching staff because the proofs in the pudding. This should be easy.

Maybe coach Calipari needs to show y'all guys what you do when you produce top 10 players:.
YOU GET MORE IN RETURN.
Or Stoops can So Calipari how To win with less talent or just win

I dropped Facebook and don't watch reality TV because I can't Stand Drama and yet I come here! Hell, most of the time I'm in the Middle of it ,,,,,,,go Figure !
