RB options in the portal.

I think we just take Davis but we’re still pretty deep at RB between Jefferson, Wright, and another escaping me

Imo McClain is serviceable but wright....I don't know. He definitely didn't look great so far this year. Sounds like he will get more than his share of opportunities in the bowl

I was SO disappointed in Wright this year . The few times we saw last year had me believing he would be our next big time running back. Maybe he still can but ……

If they don't look like Benny Snell or Chris Rodriguez we don't need them and we're just wasting their time. 1 million percent fact.

You're either a big bruising running back or you're playing for somebody else.
Don't play me with this boom Williams or courvoisier smoke bullshit.

Big and physical or we ain't recruiting them..

If Mark Stoops fails to find a big and physical running back then I know damn well we ain't winning shit next year. That's also 100% fact.

It's also a 1 million percent fact that they should have no problem finding this type of running back because they got two of them in the NFL after this year draft. Should be able to recruit easily a great big physical running back because that's what you do here at Kentucky.

The same for defensive end and the same for quarterback but for some damn reason we don't seem to be able to recruit off our success. And that gets on my damn nerves I'll tell you that right now..

Cuz if you're telling me I had a top 10 pick a defensive end and I've had a top 10 pick at quarterback and I'm not getting my pick of who I want then something's wrong with the recruiting!!!! Don't make me put the indictment down on this coaching staff because the proofs in the pudding. This should be easy.

Maybe coach Calipari needs to show y'all guys what you do when you produce top 10 players:.
YOU GET MORE IN RETURN.

Ray Davis was one of the top 5 or 6 RBs in the SEC. Truthfully, I would've put him with a shot to get drafted in a similar spot as C-Rod in the 2023 NFL Draft.
If he is willing to come to UK, he's a guaranteed starter and we won't miss a beat from the last 5 years at RB.

I agree. He's a proven 1,000 yd back in the SEC who was on the worst team in the league.

LMFAO @ Calipari showing anyone anything at this point in his career. I apologize if your statement was sarcasm. You‘re trolling if it it wasn’t.

YESSS!! Last season he looked like the next star! But, man...was our OL that bad or did Coen run him more IZ than OZ and Scang ran more OZ
Or , was out Oline last year that good ? I believe he may be better suited for the OZ …..IF we have the olinemen to block it correctly.

My point with CCC is that he gets players drafted high and then turns around and gets more top players ....all without winning. We lost in the first round and he turns around and gets the number one recruiting class for 2023. Why?
Cuz CCC knows how to leverage the draft picks that he gets and their performance in the league to get more top quality players.

We should be able to get quality players off of zaDarius Smith career performance and Josh Allen draft position and will levis draft status or Mike Edwards at Tampa Bay or Jamin Davis leading the Redskins in tackles or numerous other players that have got drafted and done well in the nfl. This isn't that hard really you should be able to get good players at this point without trying.
I believe you can take Stoops very best players from every team he's had and put together a undefeated championship squad. That's how much talent they've had at each position at one point or the other.

Don't know about Steele but he's one of the better RB's ranked on ESPN in the portal and right up the road at Ball State.

39. Carson Steele, RB

Transferring from: Ball State

HT: 6-1 | WT: 215 | Class: Sophomore

Background: Steele was named Mr. Indiana after the 2020 season in high school and played for Ball State as a true freshman in 2021. He had 891 yards and six touchdowns on 192 carries, as well as one touchdown reception. In 2022, he had 289 carries, 14 rushing touchdowns and 1,556 rushing yards, which ranked sixth in FBS. He added 166 receiving yards and one touchdown reception, as well, and was an integral part of the Ball State offense.

What is the deal with Beckwith. He is a huge RB and can't sniff the field.

Looks like Eric Dickerson plays like Jane! He’s a damn physical specimen for sure! You would think he could find a spot on the field somewhere!

I really like Davis from Vandy. Is there anyone else out there that I don't know about?

Reading between the lines, I think Davis is one of the transfers Stoops was hinting about on Monday as already being privately committed to us.

Jordan Ingram is transferring from Auburn. Stoops offered him a scholarship coming out of hs, but IDK if our coaches are talking with him now.

I believe Stoops will probably sign one or more of Wilcox, Keys, Cornist, and Henry later this month.

If he wants to play on offense, TE is where he belongs. He also has the size and speed to be an ideal EDGE if he is mean and nasty enough for that position. We don't see many 6-5/230 running backs for a reason.

Boom Williams is 9th all time in rushing yards. In three years. Would love have someone like him.

The number one RB just DeCommitted from Louisville! Let’s offer him some cash. But yes I’d like an upperclassman ready to go for next season.

Wright is a freshman. He has only 47 career carries, for 235 yards. That's 5 ypc. You are SO disappointed? How can you possibly know what kind of an SEC career he will have?
Get off your freaking high horse . I said he still can . I was just expected more this year . I was thinking he would have a Benny Snell /Chris Rodriguez type of year . You aren’t the only person allowed to have opinions on here.

On most good teams, a guy like Wright should've never been put in the spots he was.

C-Rod suspended
Jefferson hurt
McClain hurt
Smoke inconsistent/hurt

Wright almost cost UK the Florida game with multiple pass protection mishaps.

I was disappointed in Wright, too.
I still have hopes for him.
He has shown flashes of quality play.

Kobe Pace from Clemson is a nice option. His size and style really fits what we are used to and he had a nice year last year in a support role. He got hurt this year and fell to 3rd string...behind 2 really good backs.

LOL. When a poster turns the thread personal and gets insulting, I always know he has nothing relevant to the topic to say. Very disappointing in your case, because I believe you actually understand the game of football well. Maybe you should take your own advice.

Another talent wasted away by Jimbo
Based on everything I have read and seen, Jimbo is digging himself into a big hole at TAM. Not on the hot seat yet, because the buyout would be astronomical and they hired him for the long term. But with the amount of money the community there is investing in NIL, and with the embarrassment of talent on his roster, Jimbo has to produce. Lot of guys leaving TAM through the portal now, which isn't always a bad thing. But not all of those departures are guys who Jimbo has recruited over. Some of them are potentially important players. I saw a column out of a publication in TX that speculated Jimbo has another year to right that ship, and would soon be on the hot seat if things don't get a lot better. Beating LSU has to help him, but with his contract he needs to be getting that kind of effort from his guys on more Saturdays.

Maybe you should stop trying to be the “thread police” .
