Rand Paul

Or news anchors

GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said on Tuesday she made a mistake when she claimed she had come under sniper fire during a trip to Bosnia in 1996 while she was first lady.

In a speech in Washington and in several interviews last week Clinton described how she and her daughter, Chelsea, ran for cover under hostile fire shortly after her plane landed in Tuzla, Bosnia.

Several news outlets disputed the claim and a video of the trip, showed Clinton walking from the plane, accompanied by her daughter. They were greeted by a young girl in a small ceremony on the tarmac and there was no sign of tension or any danger.

"I did make a mistake in talking about it, you know, the last time and recently," Clinton told reporters in Pennsylvania where she was campaigning before the state's April 22 primary. She said she had a "different memory" about the landing.

"So I made a mistake. That happens. It proves I'm human, which, you know, for some people, is a revelation."

"This is really about what policy experience we have and who's ready to be commander in chief. And I'm happy to put my experience up against Senator Obama's any day."

I understand the difference. But I don't understand why you think it matters. In either case, he's showing a lack of understanding of cause and effect; or he's pandering to those who mistakenly think there is causation between the two.

Ukbowl was implying Paul said he had seen cases where the vaccine had caused mental disorders. Only thats not what Paul said at all.

All I'm saying is look at the whole quote, he also said he believed vaccines were a good thing, he had his children vaccinated, just that parents should have input.

I don't think Paul was pandering to the Anti vax group, why would he? It's an insignificant portion of the population. More than likely he was pandering to Libertarians, just my opinion.

We all understand the usage and Rand should know the difference as well.

This is why Rand is not liked...he tried to play both sides of the fence and made this idiotic claim and got called out for it. I mean, he's a trained physician. He easily could have made the point without the comment, but that in a nutshell is Rand.

He's Libertarian when it is convenient and when he ties to be who he is and says stupid sh1t like this, people realize that he is just as wacky as his dad.

Like I said...I hope he wins the Republican nomination. Will just make it easier on the Dems in 2016.

"He's a trained physician"

Is he not an eye doctor?

It's like the people that ask you about some obscure legal question because you're a lawyer. Being a lawyer doesn't automatically make you an expert in every area of the law.

Some call it trying to get votes. Lots of votes means there is a potential to win this thing called an election.

So let's recap this. Votes get people elected. Politicians need votes. There are a lot of voters. Any questions?

He is not saying that vaccines caused these disorders. If you read it he is not saying that. I do think it is fair to leave open the option that vaccines may cause some mental changes in a very small number of children although there hasn't been any correlation made. I think he was leaving that open as an option as a possible cause of autism or mental disorders. Not an unreasonable take.
Now that folks is how you twist words around and spin them to what you want to believe. Crazy stuff.....

Jamo, if you're looking for anything to hate on Paul about, thats fine, but at least admit it. This is a prime example of making a mountain out of a molehill.

Where was the outrage when other nominees said similar things?

Rand isn't any different that any other politician in this regard, but I donated a decent amount of money to his daddy and to a lesser extent to him (because I no longer live in Kentucky)

and its like every week he has some new cause that requires me to donate to him in order for it to get done

You can help me stop Obama's attack on . Please donate to

Early on I'd cut a check and then I just got to the point - dammit - you're a Senator, you're elected to do this for 6 years.

Again, I'm sure if I had given money to any other politician they'd be doing the same or worse but no - you don't need my money to stand up and vote no for something.

and I'm not sure anything got done at all in the bigger picture.

to be clear - if I vote for any Republican today - it will be Rand Paul

but I've been disgusted with politics for the last 8 years when I came to the conclusion that I really have no influence - none of us do - on who ultimately represents us. Rand and a few tea party candidates (most of whom are labeled wild cards) are the only success stories in politics in terms of true outsiders getting elected. But none of them will ever have a shot at truly running the country.

Christie made similar comments and was skewered...if there is a started thread on Christie, he will more than likely be called out for saying it is OK for kids to not be vaccinated, but needed to quarantine the ebola nurse.

Boehner, McConnell and Obama all said with any qualifiers that kids should be vaccinated. No one

I remember a much bigger uproar when Bachmann caused a vaccine scare back in 2012.

There is a young man in my hometown of 4500 that had this happen. Only case I know of personally.

That had what happen? That a young man in your hometown developed profound mental disorders? That the young man developed these disorders after getting vaccinated? Are YOU trying to imply cause and effect?

This is what I'm talking about - between him and his father, I bet they've solicited me for money to audit the fed at least 6 times now ....

From Rand;

Federal
Reserve Chair Janet Yellen has threatened to "forcefully" oppose Audit
the Fed. If the Fed's cronies want a fight -- I'll give them a fight.

Chip in a contribution to help me raise $150,000 and let's make 2015
the year we bust open the Fed's secrets by passing Audit the Fed!

I get them too tanked, I don't even open them anymore. You make some good points and I agree, it feels like our vote doesn't matter. It's like whoever spends the most money wins, their message doesn't even matter. Debates aren't off the cuff, no actual town hall meeting style. Rehearsed, answer practiced and polled, it's like it's a play or something. The press doesn't ask tough questions, or hold the politicians feet to the fire. We bitch so much amongst ourselves with the liberal conservative bullshit that we get spiteful instead of actually listening to what the other guy is saying.

It's pitiful really

What I know: a young man in his 20s has the mental capacity of a 7 yr old, in my unprofessional opinion.

What I've been told: he was a normal child that had an adverse reaction to an injection that damaged him.

Relatives of the kid. I have no idea if anyone "diagnosed" him. I was told he went from healthy, happy kid to what he is in very short order following some vaccine. Seems like they got some sort of settlement, but again, I'm going off memory of things I was told a long time ago. Hadn't thought about it until I ran across this thread.

Just seems like there is a lot of "settled science" thrown around, esp when it can be used to the benefit of one political party to paint the other as stupid. Way too much acceptance of "experts" with axes to grind, imo

And if they concluded a bad reaction here or there was not enough reason to have a large segment of the population unprotected, why would they? Don't you think they may skew results to get the desired outcome? They know best, after all.

I know one thing about you: Your critical thinking skills are poor. You just demonstrated that.

But while your critical thinking skills are poor, your sense of paranoia is apparently highly developed.

So, strong critical thinking is accepting what the elites tell you this polical cycle? Yeah, I'm poor. Really really poor.

I'm not a Dr. (but I have spent a night in a Holiday Inn Express) but here is something that just showed up on my FB feed. It may be absolute garbage, I don't know, but feel free to call me stupid for even posting it.

I think Rand is the best candidate for President from either party. However I think he'll take major lumps in the primary. If he escapes, He'll be defeated in the general; it doesn't even matter who he faces.

Why am I so confident he'll never win? He wants to audit the Fed. That will NEVER happen. Not because it shouldn't. But because the most corrupt organization in this nations history would be exposed; along with the uberpowerful who are behind it. Think that's going to happen? Not a chance. Think the Kochs and Soros spend a lot of money on elections? Combined, it would be a drop in the bucket compared to the money and influence that will be funneled against Rand; all from the Fed (no doubt channeled through numerous, nefarious shell arrangements).

If they cant buy it, they'll steal it. Think hacking voting booths would cause any of those folks to lose sleep? Youre talking about the most powerful people in the nation.

Hes never winning. Unless he takes that concept off the table.

Gotta love Facebook. The only thing that spreads faster online than information is misinformation. That damn list is everywhere. My g/f's cousin just posted it a day or two ago as well.

Most of those articles don't say what you might think they say. And several of the entries on the list are just incorrect - wrong authors, wrong credentials, etc.

It would take way more effort than I care to give to go through each and every one and tell you what it really says, or the errors in the listings, but suffice to say it's a load of bull.

Scariest thing I can think of is him being president, Both he and his father are radical idiots.
