Question: Will it hurt or help our team

if we were to lose one or two regular season games? I know there has been much debate on this in past years concerning loses but how do you guys think it would affect this years team?

I want to go undefeated badly and hang another banner. But if we were to lose just one I don't think it would matter and maybe even help. A loss at LSU would not shock me. On the other hand, running the table undefeated and winning it all would not shock me either!

It would shock me. They have terrible guards and have lost to Missouri and A&M (at home). Despite having 9 games left against current top 50 RPI teams, hard for me to find a loss there for our Cats unless we just totally do not show up again, ala A&M on the road.

It won't help the team, anyone who says that is crazy. This team won't have any less of a good chance of winning the tourney whether they are 34-0 or 33-1 or 32-2 heading into the NCAA Tourney. Anything but a title is a 100% failure for UK this year...losing a game before the tourney is not going to change that IMO.

If there is one loss I'd rather see it in the SECT just like in 2012. Refocuses you for the NCAA trip.

I don't think it really matters. This team will be the heavy favorite whether we go in with a loss or two or none at all. Cal's UK teams play their best ball in March.

Depends on how we lose, imo. If another team plays out of their mind completely, and our shots are not falling, but the effort is there, I think the team will shake it off, and no big deal in the grand scheme of things. But an off effort, or selfish play by someone, etc.(don't see that happening with this bunch), could have a negative effect I suppose. If we drop a game or two, but manage to win it all in April, I don't think the team will worry about the losses as much as a few fans.

While I would love to see this team pull off 40-0 (and honestly believe they can) and replace the Hoosiers as the last team to go undefeated, I 100% disagree that it won't make any difference if we go into the tournament 34-0; 33-1 or 32-2. It will make a difference. If these kids get to 36 or 37 wins without a loss the media pressure will be enormous. It will become a huge, huge distraction on the way to winning it all. If they lose even one then they become just the team favored to win it all instead of a team trying to do something that's never been done.

No team in SEC this yr anywhere as good as that Vandy team in 12.
