Guys, I want Pope to succeed, great guy, offensively very solid.

He had two weeks to build entire roster, that said I watched him at BYU and now this year, defensively his teams have been awful.

We are extremely unathletic, why would he not run a zone, what am I missing?

Arkansas should have been zoned entire game.

I get teams are shooting well against us from 3 but when your playing a team that you know you can get anything you want, the rim looks like a swimming pool.

They ran it once and got smoked in the 1st half. Not that they aren't getting smoked on man either.

Well I think we should be 100% zone until Butler gets back but a 2/3 not 1/3/1 to many gaps in 1/3/1
The corner should never be open in 1-3-1. Carr left his responsibility and both he and Robinson both ended up on the guard up front. Its not the scheme, its the execution.

If he wants any chance of success with their slowness, he's gotta go zone and hope opponents miss. Or hope opponents don't game plan.

they played a 2-3 ….with hands down….

This team give up playing defense,

Zone is meant to disrupt the offense effort....

so 1-3-1 is more complicated than 2-3 or 3-2....

You got to have role players that know how to do these zones, as others have said...not having hands up and playing uninspired does not help the cause.

We were 1-3-1 . A Williams was the baseline guy who runs corner to corner — Dude stayed in the paint !!! This is what happened .

His D stinks playing for Pitino you would think he would use some of his type D this Ol Miss team had a very good coach in Beard.
