Michigan quarterback Cade McNamara is transferring. We should definitely be going after this guy. I think we would be okay next year. Got a lot of good receivers to offer him. Get that NIL package together and get a hold of this guy.

My fingers are crossed for real for real. Wish we would got Lacey from Notre Dame then I will be feeling pretty good with this guy and Lacey..

I literally can feel the coaching staff talking about this guy right now. The news just broke really.

In 14 games, he threw for 2,576 yards and 15 touchdowns with six interceptions. Took Michigan to the playoffs last year. This is the guy.

I will take those exact stats next year and be fine with it.

Comparison with will levis stats this year:

19 tds. 10 int. 2406 yards.

Cade we talking about you 10 minutes after your decision. Kentucky wants you more than anybody. We got you. Your the day one starter here and you can get first round pick status as a quarterback at Kentucky... Ask Will Levis. Come here and Mel Kiper and Todd McShay will be talking about you next year.💯

Would love to have him, but you know there are going to be dozens of other programs that will want him too. And sadly, we will be below many of them in the pecking order.

I doubt they are just now talking about him. It was pretty clear he'd enter the portal after he lost the job to McCarthy Week 3 of the season, so I'm sure Stoops and company have already talked about whether they want him or not.

I'm partial to the Miami (fl) kid as he would be here likely at least 2 yrs
Yeah...I'd wait to see what the Miami kid has in mind first. He's got the biggest upside IMO.
Now is the Ga 5* QB gets into portal...that may re shuffle my priority.

Another one to watch is Nussmeier at LSU. He was a top 100 recruit and has ties to Scang.

Maybe, look what we did for Levis. We have the opportunity to let this kid shine on an SEC stage. Are there really that many teams looking for a starter who can give him the platform we can?

He looks like a run of mill 3* talent to me...so his HS rating means nothing anymore. He was not eye opening in short run lsat year and now he wasn't a threat to take the job from LSU current QB1.... He isn't a big run threat, 6'2 190 lbs soaking wet. In short playing time...he's a throw short kind of guy but not a big vertical threat.

I think what you're looking for now is a kid with plenty of game action in real games for experience....or we want to take a shot on a kid with big time potential we can un tap (like Levis). I strong kid, nice arm, nice size, etc...

Nussmeier sounds like a kid whose dad was NFL QB...got a nice gig to throw all kinds of stuff in HS in Texas that vaulted to top 100 ranking. But to me, he looks alot more like Kaiya Sheron run of the mill QB prospect out of HS than he does a kid that is SEC QB1 kind of talent.

I''m a hard pass on this one.

the problem is we run the slowest offense in the country. Hard to recruit this way.
I think we run a Big 10 style offense that should be an easy transition to a portal transferee from that conference. QB still gets to run the offense and throw downfield....IF we have our OL up to speed. Nothing wrong with using clock throughout the game. I don't think we will ever go to a no-huddle/tempo offense under stoops (not sure if I want that type of O anyway).

GBB!

But would Will have shined if he had Rich as the OC from snap 1? Perhaps not, but Will having 2 OCs in 2 years, then being projected Top 10 says a lot about his character.

Imo this is the perfect fit for all. We know he can produce in a high volume passing offense, which indicates good ability to make quick reads. We can give him the perfect opportunity to prove he can play in a pro system.

Just another reason why I think it's so important we keep the NFL oc pipeline (even if we move on from scang). We will have constant turnover there but the system won't change. We're out of the nil running for big time QB recruits, and recruiting to this system is the best way to attract top QB transfers.

Does Kentucky have a RB that is going to be there next year who’s big like Snell and CRod ? Those guys broke tackles and got a lot of yards after contact. Little RBs won’t cut it against SEC defenses, so it really won’t matter who the QB is if Kentucky can’t run the ball.
Boo Williams says hello.

I’ve heard the Miami kid is pretty good friends with Will Levis and has a game similar to Wills . I haven’t seen him play nor do I know a thing about him .

Out of the QBs in the portal at this time Van Dyke from Miami is the best fit.

Size, arm strength, has had some success. From the Northeast like Will so maybe there is a connection.

The OC decision should happen soon…

Can this guy run also? Most of the better teams seems their QB's are mobile enough to hurt you on the ground also. Also the decision making ability is so big, how is he in that category? Sounds like McNamara would be a sure get with all the ones available so far.

We are not going to be using QB run play if the McVey/Shanahan system stays. Van Dyke isn't super mobile. But he will sit in the pocket & zing it to Barion, Key, Kattus, Crowdus with his big arm.
