Quaintance down to Kentucky & Auburn

He’s a projected top 10 pick even with the injury, if he wants to come you have to take him, the reward is too high not to, but you get another big no matter what, even if it’s not a highly rated guy.

I’m not sure I understand all the hand wringing among some posters on this topic. I suppose I’m operating with the view that Pope probably won’t pin everything on JQ being fully healthy and ready to play, and that Pope certainly intends to have another option on the roster (Alvaro?).

We are allowed 15 scholarship players next year, right?

If Pope thinks he can get JQ, Alvaro, AND Yates, then what’s the problem? Are we just assuming this is an either/or situation?

I guess what I’m asking is, if Alvaro were already in the fold and there were these reposts of possibly getting JQ, would some folks still be saying we shouldn’t bother with taking him?

So, Pope is eyeing 3 more players and some of us think if we sign JQ, we lose Alvaro and dome don’t want Yates, because Travis Perry might be upset.

This reminds me of the story about the Pappa bull and his son standing on top of the hill looking down over their herd of cows… ..

JQ is PROJECTABLE NBA talent, hence why he is mentioned to be '26 NBA draft food. Young kid (should be a incoming Freshman, but ESPN only talks about Flagg in that sense). Not ideal SEC 5 height, but makes that up with reach, strength, and bounce. Would be a fluid presence down low for anyone defensively and a a cleaner. Never going to have to yell at him to "dunk the mfing ball"! Atrocious shot outside of 5 feet and a terrible FT shooter, so room to improve there. All in all, a darn good basketball player and if he wants to join your program you suit him up.

The talent is already at a huge upgrade for next season. We get this kid too, and we will have as much talent as anyone.
