So that team was 17-6 and had won 5 in a row when Nerlens got hurt in Gainseville. After losing that game they went 4-5 the rest of the way. If Tyler Ulis makes is on that team instead of Ryan Harrow do you think that team makes a tourney run? I'm sure they would have made the dance? Without Noel I highly doubt they make the FF but they could make the second weekend of the tourney. That is why I love that Ulis will be running this team next year. The depth might not be there but him playing 33 MPG will be great for this team.

First, the key is having Noel healthy.

Second, yes we would have won a lot more games. We had so much stability issue throughout the season. First half was with Harrow not playing and playing who plays "PG" game and then Noel got injured.

Ulis also is a 40% + 3 point shooter, which is nice. Gives you more spacing for player like Archie to attack the paint.

That team would have won a couple games in the tourney with a healthy Noel IMO...so obviously with Ulis they'd been better. Of course, Andrew Harrison, Teague, Wall, Bledsoe, and Knight would have helped just as much, if not more than Ulis.

Harrow showed glimpses of being very good. But he just wasn't there mentally at all got worked physically too. Ulis didn't show much weakness at all mentally last yr and to be so small didn't really get physically worked either. I think having a real leader like ulis changes the season for our team. We ran polson at point half the year and with Tyler we have our point all season

Well, let's see how Tyler does when he is the primary pg, when you are the complimentary player to the primary pg you don't have as much pressure on you.
Also, having Ulis on the team doesn't magically prevent Nerlens from injuring his knee.

He wouldn't have made much dif at all. Tyler doesn't look to score the ball. That team had no scorers. Zero.
It's hard to win games if you can't score from the 4 or 5 spot. Alex wasn't what everyone thought he would be either. His ball skills has nothing to do with who is passing it to him.
You guys act as if Harrow can't play. Didn't he average close to 20 a game at ga st? With a lottery pick on his team.

Yeah, but he will be starting with another PG. They will share the pressure in the backcourt and if we add Murray the pressure will be even more shared.

They also had no one who could put them in position to score the ball and finish...Ulis does that. If you do not think a healthy Noel and adding a Tyler Ulis would not have helped UK make a run in the NCAA...then idk what to tell you. That was a weak year, and weak field...no reason UK couldn't have made a run. Title run? Not likely, but Elite 8 with Final Four shot is possible.

Definitly would have made the tournament with Ulis on that team but without Nerlens don't think we would have made it very deep into it:)

We finished 2nd in the SEC that year, should have made the tournament anyway.

Name another year where a team finished 2nd in a BCS conference and doesn't make the tournament, that just doesn't happen. Teams with losing records in conferences get in most years.

I think Ulis would have been an upgrade to Harrow, but how much, I am not sure.

What that team really needed was Teague.

He would have been a dominant PG at the college level that season. He would have been a NPOY candidate, IMHO.

With Teague leading the way, we would have been a legitimate contender. If we still lose Noel, though, we probably lose early.

Having Teague and Noel all season, we might be looking at four Final Fours in a row.

Ulis would have made a difference, I'm sure, but with Noel's injury it probably wouldn't have mattered much anyway. Having said that, I would still rather just forget about that season and just look ahead to this year and what Ulis might mean to our hopes for #9 this year.
