Purdue wants Stoop?

Just looked at 10 possible replacements Stoops isn’t on the list however Toledo SMU UNLV Ohio U Tulane Liberty and a few more HC’s are

Delusional.

That account isn’t remotely in the know about anything.

Purdue didn’t fire a guy for going winless in Big Ten only to bring in a guy who only won one SEC game this year.

I know I know social media is the worst spot to get info but there are some saying Purdue and Stoops are in talks. Any truth to it.

Where exactly did you see such a rumor? Because I have seen nothing about any names being considered for Purdue besides a few local media guys putting a list together that would be a good fit. Had Brian Brohm, WKUs coach and Stoops mentioned.
Hopefully NOT WKU coach Tyson Helton. Would rather him stay at WKU. If I am being honest, I would rather him be at UK than Stoops at this point.
He is only 47
48-30 at WKU after Brohm left in 2016 and 2 losing seasons by Mike Sanford. First season was 2019.
4-1 in bowl games. Play in conference championship next week, another bowl game coming.
ALWAYS has a stud QB (Bailey Zappe, Austin Reed and now a young sophomore Caden Veltkamp from here in BG South Warren HS.), and very exciting offense / usually solid on defense.
8-4 this year in a "rebuild" year after losing Austin Reed and NFL WR Malachi Corley.. Have had several stud WR's, Corley (1295 yards in 2022), Daewood Davis (872 played on same team as Corley), Jerreth Stearns (1902 yards), Lucky Jackson (1133 yards in final year), Mitchell Tinsley (1402 yards in 1 year).

QB #s last few years :
2024 - Veltkamp (1st year) 2265 yards / 22 TDs / another 7 rushing TDs
2023 - Reed - 3340 yards / 31 TDs (12 games)
2022 - Reed - 4746 yards / 40 TDs
2021 - Zappe - 5967 yards / 62 TDs (yes that is ONE year)

Jarreth Stearns in ONE year had 150 catches, 1902 yards / 17 TDs. Amazing #s, they have had WR's post 1133 yards, 1295 yards, 1402 yards, and 1902 yards in a season since Helton took over in 2019. When is the last time UK had that production at WR ? Not to mention they have had #2 and even #3 WR's post 700-900 yards.

And I know they play in CUSA and numbers by QB's and WR's get inflated a bit, but SEVERAL guys play in the NFL, and they have had several defensive guys drafted also. If they can get drafted and play in the NFL, they can play in the SEC. My whole point is, he gets guys who can produce and not household names. He gets guys to fit HIS system and wouldn't cost a ton. WKU has had OL drafted also. I would rather lose and be exciting under Helton, than lose and be a laughing stock with an antique offense with Stoops.
