I have said before there are too many teams in the playoff. At least 5 of the teams picked had 0 chance to win this year. This year and IMO every year there are only 5-6 teams good enough and then everyone else. An 8 game playoff st most.

Its,all about the money, if only teams with a chance to win it gets in they could eliminate 50 or so teams from March Madness.

agree, you are NEVER IMO going to see the kind of upsets in the football playoff you see in the basketball tourney. The final 4 are almost always going to be the teams you expected to be there.

When TX lights up AZSt today, it will prove that any more than six teams is absurd. So make it eight to yearly provide evidence it should be only six. They've proven it's a waste of time to watch games beyond eight teams.

I mean like 24 of 34 semifinal games n the 4 team playoff were double digit wins.

We may very likely see the 8 seed vs the 7 or 6 seed n the title game this year though. So if you were gonna leave it at 6 it had to be the best 6. None of this cupcake champion getting a top 4 bid crap.

Caveman is 100% correct, almost everyone wanted an expanded playoff. It gave more teams a chance to get in. Now that we have an expanded playoff, the 13,14,15 crowd is saying 12 isn't enough and the other group is saying it's too many because of the blowouts. Just another case of no matter what you do you are not going to make everyone happy. Go to 16 teams, take the best 16 team no matter the conference and play. If 16 doesn't want embarrassed you better have a plan.

But the bowl system is a broken junk pile. I say make it 16. Then do another NIT type tournament with 16 teams and do away with or incorporate into bowl games. I think these players should have to sign contracts that require them to finish the post season.

At least bowls give a lot of teams a game. Your system gives just sixteen schools 1-4 games leaving everyone else out.

Or, maybe, question the method of seeding?

Oregon, OSU, UGA, and Texas were the four best teams this year. The fact Oregon is playing OSU in this next round is truly pathetic for college football fans.

I've been doing that non stop and think most national and regional analysts have too. Look for the rules to change asap on the dumb bye rules. Rank them 1 to 12 and you may get better games. May.

No, it gives 32 teams... more than enough for bowls. A secondary tournament would be more interesting than random bowls in Birmingham and Memphis that no one cares about. Sorry guys... the old vein of people that actually cares about the bowls has nearly died out. Gotta do something different.

So play FIVE post season games? Ridiculous.
