Ha! Good laugh to start my morning. In all seriousness, though, this recruitment has been one of the most peculiar in length. Kentucky seems like such an obvious choice, my own bias aside. His best friends are playing here, it's a title contender team, we need his services at either the 4 or 5 position (he won't get started over if he puts in the work and has the right attitude), and Kentucky has an unrivaled track record with placing NBA big men, especially long-armed shot blockers who come into college looking about as dexterous as newborn deer.
And if the academics of his single year here actually matter, UK isn't a joke. Like with most large, public research universities, you get from your education what you put into it. I went to UK on an academic scholly, and it was plenty challenging/rewarding. The faculty are all educated at top global universities, and they're all published. We have great exchange programs and a healthy international presence. The library is among the largest and finest in the world (truly). I had advisors working with me to get me into senior capstone courses early, and to cram in the credits for a double major. And when I both studied abroad and went to grad school, it became obvious that my UK Economics degree was the best education money could buy. Nobody had an edge on me. And that's not a boast. My knowledge was solely a product of what I was taught. If he invests himself in the classroom, he will not be disappointed.
In short, I cannot comprehend the delay. He could *only* be talking himself into an inferior choice.
