That ending is bothersome. Perhaps more upsetting than any other loss of the season.
I mean it was like a complete lack of situational awareness and understanding of what was going on.
Clemson got the ball with plenty of time on the clock and all their time outs. It wasn't hail marry time. They could literally still use all, or most, of their playbook.
They weren't in a position where they needed to go deep in a hurry.
Even the last play and go-ahead score. Again, not a desperation must pass situation. Infact you almost have to assume run there. It was first and goal, enough time on clock for 2 plays and they had a time out.
Then, just the general lack of going for it. The staff didn't want to go get the win via aggressive D... they just wanted the game to end.
Usually that's the case with the offense, but today we saw that it's not an offensive thing, I think it's a CMS staff, philosophy, dna, etc...
Don't go get the win...let's just white knuckle it and pray the game ends with the score board looking exactly like it does now.
