Sunny day here in Lexington, and I just rode my bike around the baseball stadium, when does preseason practice start? Haven't noticed anyone over there if it is already underway.

OT, what is the intent with the old stadium? Wasn't UK going to turn it into a new tennis complex?

I don't believe that they are back on campus yet. I think, but could be wrong, that they have the same amount of time off as any other student. So, they return like the 15th and I imagine that practice starts then.

Just a guess, but it wouldn't surprise me if they have something like football, where basically you can only have so many days or hours of practice in the preseason. So, they have to spread practice hours out over the month or so before the season starts.

I see Louisville is preseason #1 per D1. Enough of this madness. Its time to take the state back this season.

Probably not going to happen for quite a while. Would love for 2020 to prove me wrong though.

As long as Dan McDonnell is there, UofL will always be the better team. That team does nothing but reload year after year. Its maddening how good they are year in and year out. I think I saw where Kendall Rogers has them as his team to win the CWS. [sick]

I know nothing about their team this year, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is the case. They just continually reload.

I hate them, but I have to give them credit that they picked up their minor sports programs after UK did, or about the same time, and at least in women's hoops and in baseball have done better.

If I get bored later I might do some UL baseball research... that is if I can stand to be on their website for more than 5 minutes.

Their projected starters were a combined 26-6 last year led by Detmers who had 167 strikeouts in 113 innings. They actually open up in a series with Ole Miss so that should be fun. UK is opening up against TCU. I dont like anything Louisville but you have to respect what McDonnell has done there. If only UK could be there as well........

Interesting first game for them. Ben Bianco, son of Ole Miss head coach, is a junior catcher/1B for Louisville. He didn't play last year though.

Louisville pitching will always be good. They have one of, if not the, best pitching coach in college baseball. Still annoys me that we haven't paid a ton of money to get him.

why would Roger Williams leave UofL to be the pitching coach at UK? he wouldn't. odd that you would find that annoying.

I mean as our head coach. Clearly he is one of, if not the, best assistant coaches in the country. It would make sense to offer him a boat and make him turn it down. Instead, UK went with Mingione.

CB3...you have to admit after that first season that NM looked like a walk off grand slam...now, looks like a .200 power hitter that's strikes out 3 times a game. I'm with you . I can't believe Williams would turn it down to coach in the SEC with maybe the best facility in the conference.

Slugger, you and I agree on a lot of things but I have to disagree about KPP being the best facility in the conference. Its definitely impressive and is a huge upgrade over the Cliff, but its not the best.

Just saying what I've read a lot of places...don't know by experience because I've only been to UK park for baseball in the sec.
