predicting our leading scorer next year.....

First place, Calipari spreads shots around because that's the way to keep an opposing coach from stopping your offense. At Kentucky, it doesn't matter who the leading scorer is. Kentucky players averaging in single digits go in the NBA lottery. But if you really want to know who will be the leading scorer, the answer is Murray. If you saw the Nike Hoops Summit, you know why.

Isaac Humphries, after all, he's gonna take Skal's starting job, remember?

In all seriousness though, I imagine it'll be Murray. And no offense meant to Humphries, I'm excited he's joining and hope he's a good big presence off the bench.

Murray- I think the kids going to be the best thing in College Basketball this season

With Ulis and Briscoe getting him the ball, I think Murray is going to light it up all year.

It's a toss up between Labissiere and Murray. I could see it going either way.

If I had to choose, I would say Murray based on what we saw this summer. He is just so hard to guard. He is going to make it tough on defenses. He can do so much, it's going to be fun to watch him. He can shoot or take his man off the dribble. When he gets in the lane, he can finish or dish to the open man.

I am so ready for the season to start!

Right here.

Murray,Skal and Briscoe in that order

I can see that.

Those three should be the top scorers for us.

Ulis is more a set up guy and won't score as much as those three. He'll be efficient, but won't score a ton. He'll take few shots, but he will make most of them.

Poythress is more of a role player, he'll effect the game in other ways (rebounding, defense).

Lee is not going to be a high volume scorer.

I don't think the other guys will get enough clock to score a lot of points.

A similar question is: "Who is capable any given game of scoring around 20?" For instance, we don't think of Poythress as much of a scorer, but I think that his freshman year he scored over twenty a few times.

Murray is the obvious choice but, just for fun, I will then go with Skal. He will be able to run the floor with our speedy guards and ring up some thundering dunks, make plenty of put backs, and has range to hit from the outside as well.

I gotta go with Murray too. Every time I see that kid play (Nike Hoops Summit scoring 30, Averaging over 15ppg in the PanAm games for Canada), he seems to find ways to score again and again. He also seems to thrive at clutch moments, making him a natural leader.

Having said this, I still think the guy we need to step up most is Alex Poythress. We don't need him to score 15 points per game or anything, but if we get 10 a game from him, along with around 7-8 rebounds, we're in business. We already know he has freakish athleticism and excellent strength, we just need consistency.

I think our scoring leaders early in the season will be
#1 Murray
#2 Ulis
#3 Poythress
#4 Labissierre
#5 Briscoe

Later in the season, I expect to see leaps from Labissierre and Briscoe. I also expect at least one of Matthews, Mulder, and Lee to provide more scoring than expected. Mulder may be the best pure shooter on the team. Matthews may be our most athletic wing. And we know that Lee can make some highlight plays as well. I'm excited about this team.
