Power K helmet design

I just don’t get the appeal.

It's actually a K instead of a broken amalgamation of a K and Y and U (Go Houston!!!).
If they want to keep the basketball account, they'll accommodate a change in the football helmet sticker.
Looks as if we are in the minority brother. I mean I LOVE everything UK and can appreciate the history of the Power K but it just doesn’t hit as something that’s fire to me. Idk.
What's it look like matte white and blue,that looks real good.
There's no right or wrong answer here, some like it some don't. For me it reminds me too much of mediocre football I sat through and losing all those games late in the 4th quarter due to some freak screw up or a horrible call by an SEC official. I much prefer the modern logo which helps me forget the past and reminds me that a new day for Kentucky Football is here.

The POWER K actually looks like a football teams helmet, unlike the sissy looking UK inter locked look. Most people always referred to Kentucky as KENTUCKY prior to the new logo. To me that puts use to much like UT, and I want to be as far as possible from those turds.
Maybe basketball can use UK but football needs POWER K, just looks better.

I work with the guy who designed this. Real good dude. Has some really good designs out there on other things.
We have never had a "Y" in our UK logo. If you have always seen a Y in it then that's the nuttiest thing I've ever heard and I am curious if anyone else has seen it this way.

I haven't always seen a Y in our logo. I just see it when I look at the most updated "UK." Look up the logo and tilt your head to the right or tilt your phone to the left. You can see the K now has an integrated 'Y' that wasn't present in the previous two UK logos (90s and 00s).
I don't think they integrated a Y into the K. They just modified the shape of the K so it integrates with the shape of the U better. I am not privy to any behind the scenes information on the design, but I highly doubt the shape of the K has anything to do with trying to incorporate a Y.
I seem to recall a few posters referencing this "phantom Y" around the time when the new logo came about. Whether they were privy or not, I do not know. What I do know is that our logo looks like a blue version of Houston's and I see the sideways Y every time. It looks ridiculous. I'm not saying the Power K wouldn't be as milquetoast as our current iteration of UK, but at least the K wouldn't look like a graphic designer tried to invent a new letter with H and K's love child.
I agree! Too many people stuck in the past. Just like History, the past is a mistake
If we are recruiting guys from the 70s to play in the 2020s, we should keep talking about the power K.
