Potentially the Most Controversial Post I Have Ever Made: and One of the Least Likely to Come True.

I think Will Levis should seriously consider taking advantage of his remaining Covid year, earn his decent NIL bucks on this level for another year, and then go pro.

I know he has a great arm, but I think he needs more fine-tuning on short and medium routes, etc.

Sure, he would make more money his first year in the pros, but the financial portion of his decision is not as clear-cut as it was pre-NIL.

He could probably clear a million with another season, here. He’s reportedly at half-a-million this year.

Another year of fine-tuning with a quality NFL man guiding him in the SEC would likely put him at the top of the first round, just 12 months farther down the road as is now anticipated.

How much money difference is there between the 5th player taken and the 25th player taken in the NFL draft?

uhhhhhhhhhh no.
love your posts👍

It's your opinion. When the time comes, Levis and his advisors will decide what is best for him.

The argument about getting or needing more fine tuning can always be applied to any college football player. No player is ever a finished product. Players learn in college, and some players continue to learn in the NFL.

While I would love to see Will Levis back in Lexington for a 3rd season, for his future, if the kid is a top 10 pick like he is projected EVERYWHERE, it makes no sense for him to not go. Tim Couch is a bad comparison, because no matter where Levis goes, he won't go to an expansion franchise like Couch did.

It also could be that he looked bad on reads last year because with one exception our receiver corps sucked. We have upgraded considerably this year but our recievers are very green. Levi's has been really good this year considering our pass blocking has been spotty at best. It is easy to attribute " holding the ball too long" to the QB when in reality guys aren't getting open and linemen haven't held their blocks. There is nothing wrong with Will Levis that better blocking and more experienced receiver's will not cure.
Mostly not true . Watch Van Hiles film breakdown and you will see many times when a receiver is wide open and Will is still locked on to a guy that has no chance of getting open . We have had “spotty” pass blocking , but Will has not been good at seeing the field either.

I’ll hold off until I see how he progresses this season.
IMO, that is the "best" way to look at Levis' draft status at the moment. I don't follow the NFL much but this looks like a draft year with no sure fire big time QBs

Peace

He is 100% gone as he should be. He can learn more in the NFL as a backup than at UK another season. If he goes top 10 or 1st round it's a no Brainer.

There was one 🤷🏻‍♂️. And I believe another but am not looking any further but this article got lots of talk on here.
Yep, not surprised and what’s frightening is Levis will become even more of a threat once CRod returns in a few weeks.
In fact, one could argue that UK this season not only has the best QB and best RB to ever play at Kentucky but also has the best Head Coach ever at Kentucky.
See you in the Final Four fellas.

I suspect Levis is better than what he's shown so far. Just hard to get into a rhythm when the OLine is still working out some kinks after retooling.

I like the idea. i think he could really get into the national spotlight and then be a Heisman contender next year.

he'll never have a chance to win a Heisman if he goes pro ... just sayin.

with one really big game and an undefeated team, he is right in the Heisman talk! Did you hear the Heisman talk for AR after one big game?

No i didn't.

Did I say WL is in the Heisman conversation this year? No, I didn't say that either. And I didn't say he is in the conversation after one game either. Try reading again.

What I did say is he could get into the national spotlight this year. And NEXT year be a Heisman contender.

Good grief.

He is so much like Josh allen. . But Josh allen had an abysmal rookie year because he simply wasn't prepared for the nfl. Learned on the job. Levis isn't ready to start for nfl team with schemes and Speed yet. Hopefully somehow he will land with a team that can afford to let him sit a year .. if he came back for another year he would be insanely good and we would as well. But, top pick of draft in football is a no Brainer. Basketball they could afford another year especially leaving after 1. Football is a short shelf life on average and they have the 3 year minimum post high-school.

God we could dream though. I'm hoping a fricken stud qb sees what we have coming back ... that we are essentially a clone of nfl offenses... .zhould have a monsyer line...what more could you want?

You took my post 100% the opposite of what I meant but I don't have time to post more clearly what I was saying. I am off to Lex for the game, good grief!
