MARK STOOPS Q&A:
* We were far from perfect, but when we really put it together, we were humming. We woulda played at 9 am today if they wanted us to. Have been challenging that OL group to pick it up, and they answered the call. And you have to give it up to Ray Davis. Great individual effort.
* Just told the team "there's a lot left out there for us."
* Did they change the blocking up front or just do it better? Stoops said not really, but dressed a few things up differently, different eye candy at times.
* Absolutely had to start fast today after challenging the fans to start fast. "I hope thy behaved," Stoops said. Liked that they were kinda quiet at the end because they've come to expect winning this game.
* Defensively, really close to a crazy-good day. Missed a couple of potential sacks that would have stopped Florida scoring drives.
* Loved the drive to start the 3Q and reset the tone.
* Big credit to the whole coaching staff. Had every aspect of the team ready to play.
* Reporter jokes: What are you pissed about today? "I'm not pissed today," Stoops replies with a smile.
STOOPS RADIO COMMENTS:
* Stoops is so worked up over this win, he said he almost forgot to come to the postgame radio interview with Tom Leach.
* First thing he did in the locker room was to go in and recognize the OL because they've been challenged to play like this, and they responded in a big way. And you have to love the way Ray ran behind them. Tremendous effort.
* This was a "line of scrimmage game." Knew it coming in. Could see it in the guys' eyes. Coming off the field, they said, "There you go, coach."
* Eli has anchored them at center. Did a great job.
* Liam had a really good gameplan today.
* You saw a little bit of everything from Ray Davis today. Great speed. Great power. Great vision. Patience to glide and hit the hole when it opens. Some of the things the Cats saw from him in playing against him last year. Sometimes you think you have him, and you don't.
* Had a lot of guys flying to the ball today on D, making hard hits. Liked that play from Wade to cause the early INT.
* Felt like they should had a couple more TDs if they hang onto the ball. Gotta hang onto those.
* Raynor was big-time on that 50-yard FG. Everyone felt the juice from that. Big difference in a 16-point lead and a 19-point lead.
