KENTUCKY HC MARK POPE - OFFICIAL POSTGAME Q&A:

******

KENTUCKY HC MARK POPE UK RADIO NETWORK Q&A:

* On what happened at the end... Combination of Texas making some plays and us falling apart. The missed lockout on the FT showed our minds were just somewhere else, and to not be able to execute a simple entry pass is not good. Played hard. Execution just wasn't there.

* On what you tell your guys after letting one slip away like this... We talk all the time about letting go and moving on to the next game. And an example from this game, we talk about letting go of a bad play and playing the next play. That was a microcosm of the problems tonight. We couldn't let go of bad plays, and they turned into more bad plays. Toughness was lacking down the stretch, and that's on me. I've got to address it. We've been really good at that all season. Just not tonight. Really tough night for us.

* On Koby's tough shooting night... They were physical with him. (Biting his tongue.) The physicality on cutters right now is extraordinary. But no matter how much of that is being allowed, you have to fight through it.

* On Amari Williams... We're asking him to do everything right now, and he's doing it. Amazing... and can still get better.

* On what the staff can do to help the guys be in a better position to win if they remain shorthanded... A little bit of an anomaly tonight, so we have to fall back on what we've done really well all season. Also learning more about what we have to do with this group late in games relative to the roster we previously had.

* On Travis Perry... I'm incredibly proud of him. For that to be his first start, on the road, in this environment, I thought he played well and gave us a solid effort. He's just going to keep getting better and better and better.
