KENTUCKY HC MARK POPE OFFICIAL POSTGAME Q&A:

******

KENTUCKY RADIO NETWORK POSTGAME Q&A:

* A gut-check win for us, a special win for our guys after losing a couple of games and being down a few bodies. Couldn't be more proud of them.

* It was Amari Williams' birthday. What a game. He's a 1/1 player in college basketball. There's no other player in college basketball who can get you 15 rebounds and handle the ball against full-court pressure against the No. 1 defensive team in the country and finish with 4 assists and 3 turnovers.

* Jaxson Robinson stepped up with Lamont out and played so tough. I've been through a lot with him the last three years. Before the game, I told him I was so grateful to be going into this situation with him again. He was brilliant. I was so proud of him.

* On the freshmen stepping up... Noah's pickup and layup was a huge moment. Collin Chandler had his best night of the season. He's special. He's just been off for two years, so it's taken awhile to get it back. He gave us a brilliant effort tonight against a really tough team.

* Carr tried to give it a go, but we just don't want to rush him back and lose him for more games. He felt good before the game, we took a look at him for a couple of minutes, but he didn't look right. He says he's fine, though, and feels good right now.

* Almonor has been a killer. He's brining so much juice and energy to our team. What a gift it is to have an Ansley Almonor on the roster filling this role. I wish I could get seven more years of eligibility for him.
