* A disappointing loss by the Cats to Vandy. You have to avoid losing two in a row in the SEC, Cats didn’t protect the home court against Bama, now lose to Vandy and go on the road to play Tenn next Tuesday. Cats a middle tier SEC team at this point.

* You can’t keep laying an egg in the 1st half and digging these big deficits. Cats down 14 at the half with 27 points. To their credit, Oweh and Robinson brought us back to go up 7 in the 2nd half, but the Cats are unable again to win the final 5 minutes, Yes, Carr didn’t play, but with a team as old as the Cats you have to have the composure to finish these games …didn’t get it done. Cats with 2pts the final 3:19 of the game is unacceptable.

* Butler was awful. Our PG simply cannot play like that. While it’s a team game, his poor play arguably cost us the game. Way too casual with the ball and repeatedly gets himself in trouble when he gets too deep in the paint. He had 6 of the Cats 17 turnovers. Catswith 12 more TOs than Vandy … most just careless with the ball. Fitting that the game ended on a UK turnover.

* Cats -9 from 3pt line and 12 more turnovers. That’s losing basketball. It’s somewhat surprising we had a chance to win with those stats. Cats stayed in it because of +13 on the glass, although Vandy got some big offensive rebounds in the 1st half, building that lead.

* Up Next: Cats travel to take on the Vols next Tuesday night … trying to avoid 3-game losing streak before taking on Arkansas next Saturday. Cats now 3-3 in the SEC, firmly in the middle of the pack … cannot afford to lose at home. Unfortunately, there’s more losses on the schedule …. with seeding implications at stake, every game is a war.
