* Cats go on the road and lose to Georgia. It’s really hard to win on the road, but this was one of the few legit opportunities for the Cats to get a road win and the Cats once again dug a big hole and get beat. Cats get down by 13 at the half, and lose by 13 … let the game get away the last 5 minutes of the 1st half … it was essentially a repeat of the Ohio State game where we lose big to an average team that is physical.
* Cats cut the lead to 5 with 12 to play and just couldn’t score the ball or make the plays to get back in it …. the lesson is, don’t get so far behind to begin with.
* Rebounding (-9) continues to be a big problem for the Cats. We just don’t have the ability and athleticism to rebound out of our space and it will ultimately cost us.
* FTs played a huge factor tonight. 29-38 for UGA, 15-19, for the Cats … .-14 from the FT line and -9 on the glass is a really bad recipe for the Cats. Cats continue to get an unkind whistle.
* Not a well played game, bad turnovers (14 for the game), untimely fouls, 3pt air balls, inability to score at the rim …ugly play by the Cats.
* Ultimately, the Cats aren’t going to beat anybody if they don’t score a bunch of points … like 90+.. If we aren’t making shots, we lose and it looks ugly. I don’t know how many shots we missed in the paint and at the rim …. but it was a lot. We are what we are …. when he make shots, we can win, when we don’t we can lose to a lot of teams.
* For the Cats to be a threat, have to make 3pt shots (7-24 for the game is not going to get it done for this team) … we have struggled there at times this year. We were/are counting on Robinson to be a scoring threat and it hasn’t been like that for us or him. We need Robinson and Brea to be consistent threats from the 3pt line.
* Up Next: On the road for a night game at Miss Sate. Where Georgia was winnable, this one could get ugly if the Cats don’t put up a bunch of points.
