* Cats get spanked on the road by the Gators. It was another mistake filled and undisciplined performance with penalties, turnovers, bad decisions, and inability to make plays.
* For the first time this season, the defense failed to show up. Perhaps it is mental fatigue from having to play alongside the Cats offense … whatever the case it was a bad performance tonight. Cats fall victim to the dreaded backup QB again … I would have preferred to play against Mertz, and the Cats gave up way too many big explosive plays.
* The offense is awful. The offense gave up as many points as they scored … that’s inexcusable. The play calling is bad. The player discipline is bad. The pace of play is bad. We don’t have any answers.
* Yet again, a critical stretch at the end of the first half proves costly. The Cats yet again fail to tie the game late in the 2nd Q, and then imploded and gave up 14 pts in the last 5 minutes. Inexcusable.
* We need to start fielding punts … inexcusable.
* There were some really bad ball spots by the officials …yes, the Cats lost the game, but there were some critical moments in the game where some really bad spots were made
* This was arguably Stoops most individually talented team entering the year, but collectively this team unfortunately has the looks and lack of leadership of a team ready to fold. We are 7 games into the season and it has the look of Stoops worst coaching performance of his UK tenure. Not a good look.
* Up Next: Cats welcome Auburn to Lexington for the night game on Saturday. There is zero margin for extending the bowl,streak. Auburn has lost some heartbreakers … not sure what to expect from the Cats and their fans … Cats are either going to change who,they are and find a way to win a home game or this sadly could become an ugly atmosphere in Kroger field.
