* An undermanned and over-matched KY team takes a beat down from Bama. It was a fairly competitive first half, and then the 2nd half Bama asserted themselves and over-whelmed and embarrassed the Cats . You don’t want to leave the committee with a really bad last impression … but we did, and that could bite us. Cats got humiliated tonight … CMP needs to remember this one and let it sink in.

* Bama blistered the net from the 3pt line in the 2nd half (11-29 overall, +18). Cats had no answer on the defensive end with the players we have left.

* With our injuries, our guard play isn’t going to win high level games. It isn’t the fault of the players that we currently have, they are what they are, but CMP must recruit much better players … it’s a harsh truth, but we have some players that just can’t play at the level we expect UK to be at. The sad reality is, the Cats simply aren’t at the level as the top of the league … we have a long way to go.

* I didn’t expect to win the game, but I didn’t expect to get embarrassed like that in the 2nd half. … there are some things that you can control no matter who you are and who you play. You don’t throw the ball to the other team (16 TOs), you make your dang FTs (23-35 is awful), you make most of your layups … we have struggled to finish at the rim all year.

* Williams can physically compete at his position, Carr competed, Oweh got injured, … other than that we don’t have the athletes. That has to change in future years.

* Officiating is a hard job, but it’s extremely frustrating at times to see some of the non-calls. Obvious hard fouls ignored. It will be interesting to see how the NCAA games are called.

* Up Next: Cats await their NCAA seeding … I won’t be surprised by whatever we get, so we live with it. At this point, winning one game will be an accomplishment by this team. Winning two games would be over-achieving IMO. Until then, we see if Butler is able to go, Carr’s back gets better, Chandler and Oweh’s stitches heal up. Said this previously, I don’t know if playing in the SEC will make you better or take a toll, or both. Cats are a beat up team … can they win a game or two in the Big Dance, we will soon find out.
