Portal update today

It has gotten out of hand admittedly. However, something about recruiting within a 3 month period with large sums of money is very exciting.
It’s certainly full of action.

Perhaps my biggest beef with it is we were trying to get away from the one and done landscape, and get back to player development and actually building a team and a system. I fear we’ve simply inherited a new version of a one and done system that will continue to require the roster to be largely overhauled and reloaded every year.

Yeah, it's akin to the free agency seasons in pro sports. Actually just like it except maybe on steroids since there is such a large portal. I expect the Dodgers to recruit out of the portal before it's over.

Because people deserve to be told the hard truth no matter how uncomfortable it makes them. Do you think I enjoy doing it? I don't. I really don't. But the burden of knowledge is the duty to share it with others that may not possess it yet. It's not comfortable. It's not supposed to be.
Not knowing anything about you, why should the average fan believe what you say, anymore than what someone else says. You have connections?

Josh dix from Iowa entered, Kentucky is interested.
- bol bowen from Florida state entered and is one I hope Kentucky has major interest in
Dang, every player mentioned in the portal someone thinks we need or want. The portal info usually is about the player's offensive stats. We NEED Defense. If a really good kid is in the portal it is not because they want more playing time, they want more money. We can't buy them all.

Yes but this is a message board, we can talk about players who are interesting because we have no impact on if Kentucky gets them or not.

Not sure if talked about in thread but apparently we are looking at a Freshman from LMU who is off the charts...sounds like he went through an AD growth spurt and slipped under the radar.

19/9 50/48 as a Freshman

This according to Matt Jones.

Arkansas Pine Bluff Doctor Bradley could be a guy that adds some athleticism and can get his own shot. Doubt we will get involved but wouldn’t be a bad door to knock on

He's a good player for sure. Probably the most upside on his team as far as a prospect, but he wasn't even the best player on his team. They have a sophomore guard that won the SAC POY and DPOY. Averaged 20pts and 3ast a game while having shooting splits of 45/41/85

Idk what he knows but Evan Turner commented on the Josh dix portal thing and said he is going to Kentucky. So does Evan Turner know something
Great Osobor was coming to Kentucky until he wasn't. These kids could be leaning one way in the beginning, but it's still so early and money talks. Not saying he isn't coming, I'm just skeptical of anything this certain this early.

Looking at film of this guy and taking a closer look at the stats, I have to think he will be one of the better shoot/handle/pass SG/SF in the portal. He can handle the ball a lot better, pass better, and finish from 2 better than Brea and Robinson. I just wish he had put up more stats on defense. Then again, it’s Iowa, where the law is that only the football team can play defense and only the basketball team can play offense.

Gabe Dynes to the portal.

7’3 Kentucky boy. 3 blocks per game!

Doesn’t score much, but he would be a nice 3rd string Center/14th-15th scholarship guy.

Two years of eligibility left.
