Portal update today

What an insane world college basketball has become, especially in places like Kentucky where people actually give a damn beyond March.

It's incredible that the Cats' fate for NEXT MARCH will be decided over the next several weeks in a series of bidding wars in which Miami or Southern Cal or St. John's or UConn or whoever has the deepest NIL pockets can be more appealing to a top prospect than the sport's oldest and most revered Blue Blood...

In Pope We Trust

I'm picturing Randolph and Mortymer yelling at Pope to

15 scholarships need some DUDES, wonder if Pope will fill them all or have a tryout for a couple guys on campus etc. like to have at least 13 scholarship players

The only kid I’m really really wanting super bad is the Braden smith from Purdue. But apparently no one knows if he is actually going into the portal or if KY would even be in the mix. But the internet has me going from 6 to midnight just thinking about it. Boing!

From a quick look, it looks like Dix from Iowa played against eleven P-5 NCAA Tournament, teams this season, he averaged 16.3ppg/ 50% FG/ 43% 3-PT% (on 5+ attempts per game).
All things being equal I would prefer guys with 2+ years of eligibility. But I’ll trust Pope to put together the team he wants to lead

The simple truth is that Mark Pope isn't paying players out of his own paycheck to come and play basketball here. So you putting your trust in Pope to land players is foolhardy.
The simple truth is that Mark Pope and his staff are the ones who evaluate these players to determine whether they are the correct fit, assess value, etc prior to them coming and playing basketball here. So you distrusting Pope in which players to land is foolhardy.
