The Committee of 101 is a dedicated volunteer group that donates countless hours to UK athletics. The University pays the club per hour, per man, and then the club donates the money back to worthy causes within the community. All the past basketball coaches have embraced the club and appreciated their work and dedication. In his 15 years at UK Cal never associated with the Committee of 101. Unlike every other coach we have had he treated us as employees instead of the volunteers that we are. Pope is so different. He understands the many hours that we donate to the University and is appreciative. He has invited our Board to watch the Selection Show with the team. They will watch from a private room in the Lexington center, someplace around where the food court used to be. Pope just gets it and rather than feel he is above everyone, he is one of us, regardless of how much money he makes. So refreshing and I am praying he has a great tenure at UK.
