Can't just show up and stalk someone. The fact we can't get anything in person shows how much a longshot this really is.

All we can hope is this zoom gets us something in person.

It could also be the case that CMP is busy setting up his staff, evaluating/contacting portal players, and getting his family settled. In my opinion, a visit from CMP would be far more likely if he weren't so bogged down at the moment. It's also possible that LM chooses to visit us, depending on the mutual interest/fit, now that contact has been made. I still think it's a longshot that we land him, of course, but I am happy to see CMP contacting so many players right out of the gate.

If your goal is to half ass it a year and live off NIL and then leave for the NBA why would anyone want that type player if your goal is to win championships every year . Players that do that are whores to the highest bidder. And any coach that his goal is NBA players. He just becomes the Madam of the whorehouse.

Cal found a way, as loathsome as he is, and he is in exactly the same boat.

Hopefully we get him but we're coming from behind, with a coach that's a complete unknown in elite freshman recruiting. It is what it is.

For me, it's not just "In Pope we trust." It's also "In the Kentucky Wildcats we trust." No one will ever convince me that the historically venerated University of Kentucky basketball program, standing alone, doesn't still hold an attraction to many of the top high school players - notwithstanding the mess that CCC has made over the last several years.

I’ve got my problems with Cal, but come on man. Granted they’re slanted mostly towards the beginning of his tenure, but you could go year by year and name a ton.

Neither can I think of a single player whom CCC made a better player before leaving U.K. By far, most of the best of the U.K. players during the CCC years became much better players after getting better coaching in the NBA.

How many kids has Cal recruited here and how many made it in the pros? Serious question. I saw someone break it down a few years ago with 5* kids and Self was just a tad higher than Cal and K was 3rd. They were all super close though.
