If we’re only looking at a certain era, that doesn’t fit the criteria of “all time “

It's all about winning a 2nd title. If he does that, it's a given he's 2nd best ever. If not, he's just another good coach that won 1 title and (hopefully) made multiple final fours at UK. Nothing wrong with that either.

Pope has maximized the talent here.

When he settles in and has time to fully implement his own system, it could get pretty awesome as this thing goes along.

Add a potential permanent 5th year for Pope to retain players, and I'm excited about the future of this program.

Well this is a totally different subject but jmho, once there are major changes to a sport you can no longer really compare generations with any legitimacy.

This goes for athletes and coaches.

Hence the use of modern GOAT.

Definitely has a chance to be the second best coach this program has ever had. He’s in his early 50s.. it’s not completely crazy to think he gets us 3 titles or so before he retires
