POLL: Kevin Costner at his Best

Elite actor? No. Prolific, yes. Some good movies but does not have a lot of range. Blue Kel hit on most. No Way Out was good.

This is the correct answer.
A Perfect World is one of my all time favorite movies. I love Tin Cup as well. Untouchables, Field, Dances, he has done lots of good movies which brings up an interesting point. In my mind there are 2 kinds of actors well 3 really, guys who play characters, guys who play themselves, and then I guess guys who do a little of both. Occasionally they will crossover but mainly they stay separate. Which do you prefer, not which are better actors just whose movies would you rather watch?

Character type guys I'd classify as Daniel Day-Lewis, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Joaquin Phoenix, Kevin Spacey, Christian Bale, Ed Norton, etc... While guys who play themselves would be Mark Wahlberg, Kevin Costner, Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Denzel Washington, Ben Affleck, Johnny Depp, etc... Then I guess there is the 3rd type which do both, Leo Dicaprio, Tom Hanks, Russell Crowe, Matt Damon, George Clooney, Jamie Foxx. Again not which are better actors, I think we'd all agree that group 1 and group 3 are better actors but honestly a lot of times I'd rather watch a movie from guys in group 2 than 1 or 3.
