Points per possession with the 3 Rs

Legit asking because I am curious. I wonder what the points allowed per possession were.
I don't know, but those 3 were still +4 in the game, even with Reed/Dillingham being awful.
Had an entire season to build around the nucleus of those 3, and we started every game with just 1 of em. Cal had to win his own way, because he had to master class the fans.
Having good guard play is supposed to bod well for the tournament but we have a clown coach that didn’t utilize their ability!! I feel really bad for our team. Terrible, Terrible game plan against Oakland!!!
He was gonna go down with Edwards at the 3, he even doubled down and went two bigs in the last game. What a joke!
Not sure what you people want. How the hell is JVC supposed to get his pets their minutes and play his most efficient lineup at the same time?
DJ Wagner in yesterday's game. Kentucky scored 1.47 points per minute when DJ was in the game. When he was out, 22 minutes and 36, Kentucky scored 2.178
DJ in 17 minutes and 24 seconds UK 27-32. DJ out, 22 minutes and 36 seconds, UK 49-48

Dillingham in game UK scored 2.07 points per minute. Dillingham out, 1.5 points per minute.
Reeves in game UK scored 2 points per minute. In the nearly 5 minutes he didnt play UK scored 1.05 ppm
Sheppard 1.85 per minute when in and 2 ppm when he was out.

It was clear those 3 needed to be playing together 25-30 mpg this season.

Even though Reed had an off night his being in the game opened it up for the other two. Not sure why Cal never understood this. Bizarre.
That is the coaching genius we are rocking with! Just wait! Another year filled with Ugo and Bradshaw lineups who get scored on at will and can’t make an open layup or dunk.
Because he wanted to prove his strategy of starting the wrong lineups and playing big men worked so bad. He hated that the lineups we wanted were successful. It’s obvious.
This is what pisses me off so much. We never got to see what that could have been.

I meant to stop from making yourself look a guy that loves Cal so much you try to question the obvious truth .. this team was faaaaaaaaaaaarrr better with R R and R on the court than without it .. the plus / minus takes into account defense via points allowed .. correct ?
This is probably the part that stings the most. Just the stubbornness to start the right guys, for whatever reason. I see bad teams across sports, but they are never purposely bad.

I still question how much of it goes beyond DJ and has to do with WWW and the Camden pipeline. Impossible to know for sure.
What I will say is that this was the single worst coaching job I can remember at any level, in my lifetime, in any sport.
Somebody can think of a better example, I’d love to hear it. Even more than that, I’d love to hear what happened to that coach at the end of the season.
Thank you, at this point there is nothing anyone can do to remotely point out that the job he is doing is even capable for our team. He’s failing at every area except recruiting.
Yes it does and somehow still with Reed and Rob not even playing well they still outscored Oakland on the court together.
I don't support Cal whatsoever. I've been calling for him to be gone for far longer than most. And I thought PPP was an offensive Stat only. I just was wondering about their defense. I'm totally not defending Cal.
In regards to defense ... if you watch that sam kinison like guy, he pointed out how every single player on the floor was constantly out of position on defense. One or two players ... that could be on them. Every single player ... that is coaching.
PPP is but +- just takes into account the score when that player was on the court I believe. It’s a bad stat in that way but you can use it to fit the optimal lineups and see exactly how effective it was.
Nobody could guard them all at the same time. Everyone in the country knew this but Cal.
Instead Cal rolls out there with a stiff big, a chucker, a streaky wing (who is better at the 4), and a “stretch 4” who didn’t hit a three after January 27.
Yes, that’s right. Tre Mitchell was 0-16 from three over his last 8 games. He also played zero minutes when we won at Auburn, and 7 minutes when we won at Tennessee.
Might be a clue that we were a better team when we weren’t leaning on him, especially in his injury-riddled state.
Tre as a healthy stretch 5 could give us some good minutes, imo. But he wasn’t healthy, and he could no longer stretch. Sticking him at the 4 beside a stiff big was a recipe for an OVC level game in the round of 64. Cal is a moron.
Cal always reverts to what he feels works. Never pays attention to analytics.
I knew two minutes in that Tre was supposed to carry us. As you said, he is a moron.
This team should have went out of the tournament when the three R's lost us out of the tournament. Instead, this team went out of the tournament when we decided to feature our big men.
If our goal was to be competitive with the Horizon League champion, then playing Tre Mitchell 31 minutes at the 4 was a great plan.
And he got a double/double, so I guess you can say the plan worked.
If our goal was to win the game, I think there were other, more effective strategies available.
It beyond belief a HOF coach ( lol ) could seriously roll with that .. that stat on Tre , excuse me , those statS on Tre are astonishing . 0-16 on 3s .. plays zero and 7 VS TN and Auburn and Cal's tweak is to start him in the biggest game of the season ..I said this team would make the EE . If the MORON in charge plays the right lineup we could get lucky and win it all. But instead he sabotages us in Round 1 . It's beyond the English language to describe how stupid this was .. did he throw the game ???? I know I know , hyperbole to make a point . But it was that bad a coaching job , and one that guys with hoops knowledge saw coming a mile away , heck ten miles ahead . We said it here .. Wag and Edwards constantly being featured , along with a " stiff big" are not going to cut it . Oh well , people are starting to get on guys like SOS , who are doing nothing but point out how wrong so many were .. including the 9 mil a year Benny
