They exist to make the people who work in the unions a lot of money. Not the workers but the actual UAW types that go around trying to start them. They take a nice little % of every paycheck. When I was in college the head of UPS came and talked to my Finance class. Basically they set aside X hundreds on millions of dollars for education, health care, retirement, whatever. The union then splits that however they think the workers want more of. No matter how much they act like they fight for more or whatever that amount of money isn’t changing outside a major strike which causes a multitude of other issues.Unions had their place at one time in our country. But you're correct in that because of all the employment laws they aren't needed now.
Now I will say I have a BIG problem with unions personally, because of something involving my father years ago. I will not go into detail, but let's just say I don't care for unions much.😡
I'm with you. I wrote an economics paper on it at UK. My professor wasn't thrilled but oh well.Unions had their place at one time in our country. But you're correct in that because of all the employment laws they aren't needed now.
