PJ Haggerty Enters Portal

Oh it’s reported he already has 3 million dollars offers.

He is ABSOLUTELY a take, but I genuinely don’t know if we’ll have the coin for this one.
He would be a take for what ever school HE chooses or has chosen. More likely he has already chosen.

The first 19 games Chandler played in he averaged 7.75 MPG, shot 26% overall and 15% from 3. Over the final 11 games he averaged 15 MPG, shot 42% overall and 48% from 3. It seemed it took Collin a little while to shake the 2 years worth of rust off and work himself into a steady rotation. So give him another 6-8 months to get into playing shape and shake of the rust and he will be the 2 guard we are all hoping for IMO.

In the postseason, he was 7-13 (56%) over 5 games.

He was 5-8 (63%) in the NCAA tourney. In less than 15 minutes per game.

I think he finished strong.

This is what I have felt all along.

Why is everyone's panties in a wad over getting another shooter? We got them already. I'll trust in CMP as to the needs and potential roster improvement players to land than anything I will ever read on our board. That said, there's good lively discussion and maybe someone can convince me that we really are that "one final piece" away (or 2?) to ride for #9.

I'm feeling great that Chandler came in, improved, shook off the rust and has that look of a player that is going to explode on the college basketball scene next year.

From the Tennessee games forward, Perry, Noah and Chandler gave us that unexpected dimension that other teams had problems accounting for. The Vols finally caught up to it after 3 tries. We've got Kentucky boys that are proud to wear the jersey, and can continue to develop, that will make this team an elite one next year. They still may even be another year away from truly realizing their great potential in the system here, but we're already in fine shape with Chandler.

I think next year everyone is going to reevaluate what they thought and said about several of our players, and come to realize that once again, CMP has put together a team greater than the sum of it's parts....

Let's just hope those parts stay together NEXT year !

Go Big Blue !

I think people are trying to fit a round peg in a square hole with this final roster spot. They don’t need another PG. They need a guard or wing who can shoot and defend.
In no particular order. A good defender and 3 point percentage analytical would be

Chad Baker Mazara
Rylan Griffin
Malik Thomas
Rodney Rice

The ??? with not a lot of information
Sarr
Znor
Other international players

Truthfully we don’t know any numbers for sure but these guys know the market value exists and not everyone will be paid the same as well. That comes with being a professional.
Yeah, and I’m not denying there are guys out there “worth” the higher dollars compared to some others, but we don’t need to be in the business of paying exorbitant amounts to one guy over all the others or blowing half our allotment on one or two guys while the others eat beans and rice. That’s not a good team makeup.

I think everyone on the team is fairly compensated or else they wouldn’t have agreed to come.

Yes but my point is neither one of Oweh or haggerty are shooters, they are guys who can get to the rim and scorers.
I definitely agree with you looking at Haggarty's stats and development. He's basically Andrew Carr from deep. That kind of perimeter skills we would be glad to have in someone that we didn't really need shooting most of the time. You try to force someone with that level perimeter shooting into a Koby Brea or Jaxson Robinson role and you're gonna get burned imo.

He may only have missed four more baskets than Oweh but goodness, he missed four more in the AAC while Oweh was shooting against SEC defenders. Oweh could very realistically be a bigger perimeter threat than this guy.

Looks awesome if we want a PG to split minutes with Jasper backing up Lowe. And I wouldn't even balk at that plan given the season we just had. But no thank you to the idea of this guy as our (Wilkerson)/JR/Brea replacement.

This dipshit thinks he is worth more than half the players on a current nba roster.
The average NBA salary is currently at $12 million per year …just the average …and that amount is soon to go way up after the league just signed that new $76 billion TV deal.

So, no, he does not. It’s true that he’s asking for more than some of the scrubs at the end of the bench making the minimum. But certainly not “half the players.”

The average salary is highly skewed by the massive salaries at the top. The median salary is much lower. According to ESPN, 350 of 491 NBA players make less than the $12 million figure you mentioned. 217 players (44% of all players, sue me, half was a slight exaggeration) make less than $4 million per year. That includes names like Kevin Love, Dalton Knecht, Russell Westbrook, Dante Exum, and Nikola Jovic. Not current stars but these are guys getting solid minutes on playoff teams.
