Pitino

Pitino’s resilience is amazing. No matter what he’s hit with, he always bounces back. When it looked like his career was over and he was forced to go overseas, he responded by promptly winning the Greek championship. Just as he succeeded when forced to start over a nothing little mid major like Iona. The dude can’t be kept down.

I can’t imagine what he could’ve accomplished if he’d just stayed at UK.

He's winning the '98 title because he would have had even more depth with Byron Mouton. Might have made a Final Four in '99, too.

From there, he's probably looking at two more titles, minimum.

“Pitino said the love for the Wildcats among Kentucky sports fans "is rooted in any number of things: the dominance of UK basketball, the history of the state, racism and Kentuckians' vision of themselves as rural folk as opposed to city slickers."

Referring to racism, Pitino added that "the segregated past of Kentucky basketball still cast an ugly shadow on the school" and that the parents of some African-American recruits he tried to sign at UK "were dead set against their sons playing at Rupp Arena."

Yeah really loves us.

Someday perhaps some of you will realize that Rick Pitino only cares about Rick Pitino and what use you have for Rick Pitino

If he stayed at UK he was passing UCLA no doubt about it and we’d be talking about him today with the most wins in NCAA history and not K. Kansas would be no where close to us in the win column either!

Pitino would be 2-4 (wins in '96 and '97 but losses in '87, '93, '05, '12). Vacated in '13 doesn't mean forfeit.

No.

He played in five official FF’s and he won one of them ie. 1-5

Cal teams played in four officially and won 1 of them hence 1-4.

Dean Smith went to 11 Final Fours he won 2 of them.
