Captain Arrogance refused to address his future at Little Brother..He said "I shouldn't have to answer those questions in Janruary." When do you answer them..as you are heading out the door like you di to the Celtics?
Another instance that he thinks he's bigger than the program. He wasn't a UK ..maybe at uavel he is..I stillsay he's acting awfully strange..Flipping us off at Rupp..Holding bunker mentality pressers where he attacks the NCAA ,Rick Bozich and anyone else that questions his greatness.I see the Captain Queeg syndrome growing in this small petty man..
When the scandal heat turns up..will we see him slide out the back door of Minardi Hall for destination yet determined? Stay tuned..

Exactly. He is truly a total ass and a complete low life POS.

I guess he morphed into that. It's a shame really...where he was, and where he is....darn those life choices....Many have made bad ones and many end up like Rick (With or without the dough...)

Some titles for him to consider:

--Arrogance is a Choice
--Deceit is a Choice
--Infidelity is a Choice
--Philandering is a Choice
--Lying is a Choice
--Poor Sportsmanship is a Choice
--Hair-plugs is a Choice
Yep, those are good titles. But how about...
Soliciting prostitutes is a Choice.
Contributing to the delinquency of minors is a Choice
Or an autobiography:
How I Owned Louisville

I can't stand the way he tries to play the victim. He did it after the Sypher stuff too. Poor, Poor, Pitiful Rick.

“We've got to get through some problems here at the University of Louisville, and I'm hoping I'm the person to lead us through those problems.” CRP

Well Rick, it's your leadership that has put the NCAA crosshairs on the UL basketball program...so maybe you need to rethink your leadership approach.

I think the opposite. He is what he is, and was always that. His character has been revealed at Louisville because of adversity. He was fortunate/lucky/good enough at UK to not have to go through any adversity. Everybody looks good when you're winning and everything is seashells and balloons (Al McGuire, hat tip). When times get tough, that's when you see what people are made of.

He hasn't changed. His circumstances have.

Read that article and could not feel like the man was laying down a foundation to bolt.

All the signs there. 1st talk about how long you have been at the program 2nd talk about all the success over the years 3rd briefly mention issues at program 4th build up AD 5th build up history, facilities and conf 6th mention how its the University of Louisville not Pitino 7th and most important mention how any coach would want this job once he steps down.

Over the weeks until the end of the season i see RP adding to this foundation for a easy exit.

I think he is getting ready to exit. If he does UL will have a hard time getting a big time coach. Hammer may fall on UL**.

I can see why he feels the way he does. His career arc really hit its peak in 1996. Its been downhill from there ever since. The Louisville title was a blip that may prove to be a tainted success.

It's easy to grin when your ship has came in and you've got the stock market beat, but the man worthwhile is the man with a smile when his pants are too tight in the seat. That's what I've always said.

Scary thing for me is, in a year where college basketball is so obviously down, anyone can win the title……including UL. Pitino is a low-life POS no doubt about it, but the man can coach and he's got some pieces there that can make a deep run in the tourney. I say be careful in the poking fun as UL has as good a shot as any to win the whole thing and I really mean that. Pitino will have them ready in March and he will be eyeing the opportunity to do something big.

It's rather sad honestly the way he won't talk after a loss, but is always eager to after a win. And the way he won't even address the whole scandal thing. More than anything else the way he's acting makes me think there's a lot of truth behind the allegations. I guess the NCAA will eventually make it's own ruling, but I'm not holding my breath on that bunch. What's funny of course is that even if he is forced out or quits someone else will hire him.

I think he is simply listing all the accomplishments and the whole UNLV thing is left kind of open to put himself in a position of having fans and those in power to beg him to stay and praise him.

From everything I've seen so far, UNC is the team to beat. Louisville will and could be there. I don’t think Kansas could string together 6 straight wins away from the Phog. But, yeah, it's wide open. Hopefully, UK will find some magic.

The reason is simple. After a loss, he doesn't want to throw his players under the bus, since it was clearly their fault. After a win, he can answer all the questions in good conscience, since it was his brilliance that led to the victory. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

PItino winning the title this year, or any year, will not change the fact of what he is

I personally believe its as good as a done deal. Ive known a person from his family for about 20 years and he came extremely close to going to UNLV before. Also he was very close to taking a job with UCLA.
