this season. Points out several fouls that wasn't fouls in some games this year that went against his guys. Wonder if part of it is him just not use to the refs in the ACC? Maybe the refs not as intimidated by him as in other conferences? Or is the reffing just stinking more and more as time goes on?

Whatever it is, have never seen him blast the referees publically like this before. Actually don't remember any coach publically pointing out several bad calls like that.

The NCAA needs people watching and studying bad refereed games that are turned in to them and taken a step further by somehow holding refs accountable in a stronger way for the jobs they do.

Anyone see the foul call on Kornet last night on the break? The replay showed he didn't come close to touching the guy and in live play on TV it didn't look like it either but the ref called it anyway. The ticky tac fouls are ridiculous unless you want to call it both ways and they never seem to want to do that.

I'd say that much of it is adjusting to ACC officiating. Jim Boheim didn't care much for the ACC officiating in Durham last season.

All coaches get p!ssed when calls go against their team, but wholly cr@p wants the whistle blown an opposing player so much as breathes on his guys.

Wasn't it Pitino that said anyone who complains about officials had mental problems? I'm sure someone can dig up the exact quote.

If all the fouls committed by Lou. players were called they would be out of players before halftime. It's surprising he'd be complaining about a lack of fouls being called.

He was pointing out a lot of calls on his guys that he said was not fouls. Wonder if coaches being more vocal about how bad officiating is could lead to them being more accountable for their jobs? Or would it lead to more coaches paying fines for opening their mouths about guys not being good at their jobs?

I saw that call. Truly horrible. Easy call. Kornet did not touch the guy.

That one might have been a game changer.

The NCAA should have created a professional organization of officials a long time ago instead of leaving it up to the conferences.

He must have been wearing blinders when ul played uk, because they got away with fouls that wasn't called and one that was called that shouldn't/could have gone against Harrell.

He's just pissed because they are calling fouls on his players this year for
Pushing , shoving , hacking, slapping, holding , riding and bumping all the
Way down the floor , biting , flopping, tripping and hugging. He doesn't believe those are fouls.

I still believe a coach should be able to challenge a call like in football, could you imagine our season going down the tubes in a tourney game on a blown call.

He is mad at everybody. Screams at everybody, criticizes everybody, throws players under the bus, refs are bad, it goes on and on every year. The guy just doesn't have a happy life.

Pitino should be the last guy to complain about fouls after all Louisville has got by with over the years.

I've been calling for this for several years. The way in which officials enforce the rules are absolutely inconsistent from league to league, but overall, it's very poor across the country. We need to have them made paid salaried employees so as to make them accountable and for quality control. It needs to be made MUCH more consistent and the rules on the books need to be enforced, not more rules made that are subjectively called (or not called) and simply left up to each individual officials whims' to call them as they see fit with nobody to oversee them.

Holding officials to be accountable has GOT to be a priority. College hoops has become unwatchable in the vast majority of games I see these days. Gotta fix it, because CBB is going down the tubes for the casual viewer, ratings down, just a sad state the game is in right now.
