Rick Pitino loves Kentucky. He always has, he always will. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the future. Somehow, I think he will be restored in the sight of many fans who have been angry with him over Louisville and so many other things.
Screw it, hire Rick for that $1 million per year ambassador role that Cal was going to get.

Truthfully, Pitino was reacting to some random guy hanging over the railing SCREAMING at him as he exited the arena, and I wouldn't blame him ... fans can be ignorant clowns. My best memories as a UKBB fan were during the Pitino years. Surprised to hear that he would write a NIL check to UK ... that's impressive.

Even when he flipped us off, I knew he only did it because it hurt him inside that we were all booing him. He loves UK and always will. I was 8 (soon to be 9) years old when the Unforgettables lost to Duke. That man was and always will be a legend to me.

I believe Rick will absolutely take that role in a couple seasons. Don’t need him to have it now because the natives will just want to make him HC if things start rocky. Let pope get his footing and Rick will be our coach emeritus.
