I could see it happening, after the ACC gets gutted by the SEC and B10. Then the leftovers can pair up with the Big East.

Big East is not all that am either. UConn, St. Johns, Marquette is about all that's decent in the BE right now.

Isn't one purpose of a conference to play the other teams in your conference? In basketball, they would play like half the other teams or fewer. In football, even fewer.

Great idea for basketball, but football calls the shots and many Big East schools don’t play football. It would never work unless it was basketball only.

The only chance it happens is if/when FSU, Clemson, Virginia (Or VaTech), NC (or NCState) all leave for the B10/SEC/B12

Then the remaining ACC that didn’t have enticing football teams can conglomerate with the Big East and market heavy as a “super conference for basketball”.
