Wow, he was just a boy. Amazing how time changes all of us. CU's current coached played for KU. May have done a short stint there as a coach as well. He might very well end up being the best basketball coach the Buffs have ever had. He's certainly made them competitive in the P12. Like UK, not a bad place to have on your coaching resume.

What kind of self respecting man has knee burns as a handle? That's ghey.

If you are a female, carry on.

wow, if you'd said "guess who this is" I would have gone through 100 people before I'd said Cal. Of course I'm no good at faces so maybe its just me,but it doesn't look anything him now to me.

Gotta admit, they do have an impressive resume of coaches having coached, played or attended Kansas. Phog Allen, Dean Smith, Adolph Rupp, Larry Brown, and Roy Williams.

Not on those guys leve but one or two may someday be.
All three played and were assisting coaches
Mark Turgeon at Maryland, turned Texas A&M around.
Tad Boyle at Colorado 16-5 best they been in 100 years
Danny Manning at Wake Forest only 2 years in but big improvements according to fans haven't watched any games.

I see 3 names there that were/are as corrupt as anyone in college basketball history. Is it possible that UK got the only non-corrupt coaches to come out of that program?

Add Kevin Stalling, Gregg Popovich, Alvin Gentry, Tim Jankovich, Jeff Boschee, Jerod Haase and NBA General Managers: RC Bufford, Milt Newton and Kevin Pritchard to your list.

I'd add John McLendon to that group.

"John B. McLendon, Jr. (April 5, 1915 – October 8, 1999) was a pioneering American basketball coach who is recognized as the first African American basketball coach at a predominantly white university and the first African American head coach in any professional sport. He was a major contributor to the development of modern basketball and coached on both the college and professional levels during his career. He is enshrined in both the Basketball Hall of Fame and the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame."

Cannot be denied. The deepest roots of basketball without a doubt. Brown gets a bye for he won a title there but didn't play there. Roy same same didn't play there so imo he doesn't count tho he coached more wins at KU than any other in the 90's decade (no title tho)

Eerie tidbit; Coach Rupp passed away on 12-10-77 the same night we beat Kansas @ Kansas 73-66.

It was officially "Adolph rupp night" at the Phog. Yes they teach that at KU when you're a student. Not joking either

Boyle was a megabust recruit. Back then recruiting was "hey this random service says this dude from Colorado is the best player in the 8 state region"

Came to KU and rode the pine a lot. Oh well. Good coach tho

One of my favorite players when I used to follow the NBA played for the Jayhawks and my opinion the best big man of all time, Wilt Chamberlain.
