Perry is making huge progress as season goes on

He really tanked in games against cupcake teams, can not shoot, can not defend anyone.

But coming into SEC games, he performed way more better in all three games. He can provide solid five minutes to give Butler rest. Make shot, make smart plays and defence is OK.

Proud of him.

We see flashes like the three last night and creating his own shot in the paint against Georgia. I think these experiences only make his readiness to play at the speed and physicality of college basketball come sooner.

We have to remember that Perry is a traditional freshman. These guys used to see the floor only in late romps and during JV games. My hope is that Perry plays 4 quality years here and walks through the hoop on senior day 2028 as a local hero. I wish that for Noah too. It would be huge for the state and recruiting future generations of Kentucky kids.

Perry has had some very quality minutes. The long rebound and 3 he had in the first half was huge to settle the team down a bit because it felt like they were teetering on the edge with the atmosphere and Miss. St. having some momentum.

Your thoughts on the hook call was I thought a big step forward. I spoke about how in the Georgia game our players knew they were getting screwed and as soon as the whistle blew, they would sort of pout at the ref and stare at him instead of moving on. I noticed that was not the case last night. Big step forward.
There is an old saying I used many times with players; "yard by yard it is awfully hard, but inch by inch it becomes a cinch." Perry has taken inch by inch steps I feel and making progress.

I think he's a great replacement for Lamont. Reminds me of Kriisa with better control. I love Perry's energy, and he's got a pure stroke.

Yes, he has 2 turnovers in 75 minutes played. He probably still goes to the bench if Kriisa ever gets healthy, but invaluable experience for Perry. Would love to see him play all four years at UK. I wish he was 6-3 instead of 6-1, maybe he'll grow a little still.

Good passer as well. Ball handling and particularly his dribbling has improved from going against Butler. Pure stroke.

Never going to be a shut down defender but what he lacks there he will make up in other areas.
We’ve had a lot of pgs thru the years like that. Macy Harden Epps Knight Dampier Wall Meeks Ford on and on.

I’m proud of Travis. You can tell he’s been putting the work in. He’s contributing nicely in his limited minutes to spell Butler. He’s scored in every conference game and has not been a total liability on the defensive end.

I’m excited at the prospects of a “traditional” four-year development plan that was sorely missed in this program for 15 years.

Keep it up, young man!

Pope is the perfect coach for Perry and Noah. Gives guidance and support, something ccc could never do. Players had to improve on their own.

Yeah his play now is night and day compared to where he was in even early December. Clearly it was nerves because you just don’t learn that much that fast. Very very proud of him.

Yeah, he's got a quick release and he made a lot of them in high school with a guy in his grill.
