Perfect fit for Pope. Florida State big man Malique Ewin should be the top frontcourt target if he decides to transfer

He looks and sounds like a guy who'd be a complementary player to Garrison. I'd be more interested in what a guy like Sorber decides to do, but this guy definitely has some ability. Too bad he gives nothing behind the arc.

Unassisted Makes at the Rim / 40 Mins is pretty self-explanatory, but it shows how many shots a player made that were unassisted (so the player had to self-create those looks). This metric gives us an idea of the player’s shot creation ability – and, to some extent, their shot finishing ability since it only counts made baskets.

That doesn't mean he should be. Look at Bama's C this year, he's the best option they have and fits their system, but they could do better than him, despite him being one of the top portal targets at C last year.
Popes system requires a big who can pass, ewin can do that

DC407 not sure who's burner account you are, but why are you so adamant about a Florida State player and their defense? What exactly did they teach in Sunday School that attributed to your knowledge of his defense?

Would like to see how well he can score when getting clobbered with no call. And, can he stay in front of his man on D? SEC a total different deal, full of Oweh types at every position.

Not adamant, just have watched them play. If you believe 72nd in defensive efficiency is good, that's on you. They're allowing 95 PPG over their last 3 heading into tonight (no games went into OT), but you believe that's good defense?

Of all the players in the portal, if we can get him, we need Agbim. Get Obi, we will be reloading.
haven't seen this guy play, but did watch Donovan Dent last night. He looked pretty good, quick, good passer, creates.
How does this guy compare to Dent?

Get Ewin and another big bodied PF and we are in business.

Rotate Garrison, Ewin, and somebody like Stillwell or Lendenorg at the 4 and 5 spots like we have Williams, Garrison, and Carr this season.

Also add a stretch 4 to replace Almonor.

We are getting a McDs All-American, Ky kid in Moreno also. He isn't gonna sit the bench.

I really don't see the fit. We need a PF to complement Garrison and Moreno. A guy that can shoot 3s well and rebound at an above average rate.
I know he is more a SF, but damn it would be nice for Pope to try again to lure Richie Saunders to LEX. Kid is fearless and is having a great season! BringUmYoung will no doubt money whip him with those new found deep pockets though.

6'5" 200 lbs, but plays way bigger than that on offense.

As Pope seemed to emphasize with his first class, he should emphasize defense and rebounding with his portal players or at least athleticism. Williams played way better/more consistently the second half of the season.
Ewin is gonna be one of the best bigs in the portal(if he enters) it would be crazy not to want him

Garrisson can’t be your starting center. Ewin is better, and Moreno probably won’t be ready next year
Pope has played Garrison some at the 4. He says he wants him shooting 5-6 threes next season. Sounds like he wants him to maybe become a stretch 4. If he wants to make it to the league, he needs to continue to improve on the perimeter.

So we might be looking at Garrison at the 4 and Ewin at the 5.

for UK to rise back to the top, Pope needs to add better, quicker, stronger players at all positions
I like Garrison, but he does not rebound or block shots very well. Moreno will be to thin & weak for the SEC.

maybe so, but Ewin has college experience that Moreno does not

Well, you had just said thin and weak. He definitely doesn't have Ewin's college experience and certainly wouldn't be as good. That's not up for debate. I just think yall are wanting something that Pope isn't going to pursue. We have two guys locked in at that position. But we do have a big opening for an elite portal PG and an elite portal PF.

And the other guy is talking about moving Garrison to PF. Why not just get an "Ewin" type player in the portal that can play PF?

I guess I think more of Garrison's game. He's only a sophoore; he'll get stronger and better, and he can already shoot the ball well. For Pope's system, I'm not sure we can do a lot better than BG
He REALLY needs to become a better rebounder though. And if he’s going to be our 5 , we better be bringing in a STUD 4 man with some low post scoring ability.

His wife vetoed Lexington once, I’m sure she’d do it again. Happy wife , happy life .

Potential pf targets are very limited this year if you search for data...

He looks good offensively, but offense is only part of the game. Unfortunately, it is hard to find defensive highlights. Haven’t watched any games personally. So, only saying we need players who can and will consistently play defense and rebound. Those things have killed us this year.

it depends on how pope will think and balance
