Are we going to have a thread every time Memphis loses? I mean, holy hell, he takes a recruit and we need to talk about the guy endlessly.
You’re just jealous

But he has a nice momI'm glad Bolden went to Duke. He was way over rated and frankly is a major embarrassment to K and the Dookies. Had he chosen UK he woulda been a blemish on Cal too. Bilas and the national media would be calling Cal put for him being stiff. slow, not very athletic and not developing.Just not very talented IMO.
Money money money......Moooooo neyyyyyyyHow can Wiseman watch Memphis play, then watch UK and not know that he made the wrong decision? How can you possibly compare the two programs and think the right place to go is Memphis?
Also signed,When you play in the NBA and are a local hero you are automatically gonna be a great coach.
Sincerely,
Chris Mullin
Many other threads so you don't have t post in this one -------------->Are we going to have a thread every time Memphis loses? I mean, holy hell, he takes a recruit and we need to talk about the guy endlessly.
I'm sure High Point has a really tough schedule, but they are able to lock down wins with that ferocious ball-line defense. What's really funny is Tubby won 21 games at Memphis last year and got fired. Penny may not clear that hurdle. On top of that, I believe Tubby has an identical record to Memphis at freakin' HIGH POINT right now. The old man may not have wanted to recruit all that much but he's a better X and O coach than Penny can hope to be.
to lose to Cincy. I would say that their 10th loss with quite a few games left ends their NCAA chances.
You have to remember that these are 17 year olds making these decisions, he had played for Penny for the past 2 years or more in AAU ball, and all his buddies and advisors were telling him that it didn't matter where he played he was NBA bound, and that he could be a hometown hero leading Memphis back to prominence. We know Cal would have kicked his tail and made him better, he didn't know that, I understand exactly why he didn't, heck our posters can't even remember from one year to the next that Cal develops these kids at a rapid rate and gets them NBA ready in 6 months. I also imagine they point out that Penny and Miller both played in NBA and Cal didn't.Still players will never learn by other players mistakes and choose other subpar teams other than Kentucky.
When flipped it on the Memphis Arena looked absolutely empty. Guess the city doesn’t care much for the Penny edition
Now I know your thoughts on Penny! Now I like THAT Penny. #hotashell
“Every other team is just tougher,” Hardaway said. “They impose their will on us. They’re just tougher."
Maybe he should actually TEACH his team to be tougher instead of sounding "jealous" of other teams who have coaches that don't have that problem in February like Memphis does.
Hardaway has been terrible on and off the court. I figured it would be just inexperience, but this is goofy. Lol.
Where's ESPN and the talking heads saying the firing of Tubby Smith will set the program back 10 years? They actually seem to be right this time. What's really funny is Tubby won 21 games at Memphis last year and got fired. Penny may not clear that hurdle. On top of that, I believe Tubby has an identical record to Memphis at freakin' HIGH POINT right now. Next season is the measuring stick. This year is moot. JMOto lose to Cincy. I would say that their 10th loss with quite a few games left ends their NCAA chances.
He's in on someone outside of Memphis? Who would that be?We need him to sux at UM he is on a lot of the guys we are recruiting!
Sometimes it takes a while for fans to learn.I wonder if Memphis fans still think he's a savior LMAO
You sound salty? Tubby put guys in the NBA that made a living off defense. Just sayinI'm sure High Point has a really tough schedule, but they are able to lock down wins with that ferocious ball-line defense.
Tubby has forgotten more about coaching than Penny will ever know. If he goes three years and doesn’t produce a winning team and I mean an NCAA team the heat will be on Penny and he won’t be able to deal with it , just wait and see. What's really funny is Tubby won 21 games at Memphis last year and got fired. Right now, they're thinking the team looks pretty decent because they only watch Memphis and all the other D2 teams in that conference.
They're also thinking that Memphis will be a top ten team next year, because they're getting Wiseman and Jeffries.
They are in for a shocking surprise. Dude can't coach.
“Stay home be a hero and maybe we can make it back to the big dance.” Raises the question of who does Wiseman get to be a hero for, the coach or the fans?
Oh you don't have to convince me, I know what they'll be, it's the Memphis fans that don't get it.Memphis will not be anywhere close to a top 10 team next year. They lose 5 of their top 6 scorers and only have 3 recruits so far.
Wiseman should help a lot but Jeffries is no sure thing to be a contributor next year.
Thanks, surely he has enough senseRJ Hampton

I watched the second half of that game last night.
Their defense was pretty good especially playing full court at the end of the game, their offense was 1 guy shooting NBA 3's.
What I found odd was Penny's demeanor at the end of the game. He was pretty emotionless. My gut feeling is he knows he's getting a pass this year with Wiseman coming in next year, but if his team does this next year, I think he's going to lose his mind.
