Penn State - Notre Dame thread

So, naturally, Franklin decides to put the ballgame in Allar's hands when he was not good all night long. If I were a PSU fan, I'd be pissed, once again, that Franklin made some bad decisions in another big game that cost them big time. He can evidently get them to the dance but hasn't been able to be crowned king, mainly due to his decisions I would argue.

Drew Allar made $1-2 million in NIL. Does his paycheck make him fair game for criticism? You have top RBs and the best TE in college football, but you cannot connect with a WR. Does the loss fall on him?

So ND brings in backup QB & he goes 6/7 against a top D. Way better than anything UK can put on the field. Talk about the talent gap from UK to the top. Goodness.
I would hate to say "great minds think alike" but tbh, I thought the exact same thing. Good teams often have at least two competent QBs, hell, we seldom have one.

Just happy we get another game with that sexy Marcus Freeman on the sidelines. Makes the games easier to watch for sure.

YES, because UK's recruiting has always been on par with Notre Dame's. Jeez. Guess what, Georgia, and other top ranked teams have a QB on the bench who can come in and produce. It is why they are all in the top 10 recruiting every year. Duh, of course a top ranked team in talent / recruiting will have a solid back up. Not EVERYTHING has to be about UK's lack of QB, they are not on par recruiting wise as ND, OSU, Oregon, Georgia, Texas, etc. Of course the elite teams have more talent and depth, it is why they have top ranked classes every year.

The simple truth is, UK is not an elite football program, never have been, never will be. WE have had some really good years, several average ones. The sooner fans accept that and just be fans of what we DO have, the better. Yes they need to focus on the QB position a lot more, but at the same time, as a fan, I will cheer for who ever is the QB, and like wise for the rest of the team.

Just go out and recruit the best you can as the #7/8 team in a loaded, talented conference, and play as hard as you can, which has not always been the case. Coaches need to focus 100% more on the QB position, I do agree with that. After all, with out a QB, O-line, WR's and RB's really doesn't matter as teams will focus to stop what UK is best at. BALANCE on offense is the key, defenses can't load up on stopping the run.
For comparison, UK always has stud players on the bench who can come in and drop 15-20 points, Notre Dame's basketball team, hasn't. One is a football power, the other a basketball power. Not fair to compare UK's and Notre Dame's football riches, or lack there of.
