We played them within a point in the 2ns half, in the first they had a stretch with a few bad calls, including a bogus flagrant and two banked 3s. That was the sole difference in the game even tho we had a million unforced turnovers.
Pearl’s first season at Auburn:
15-20
Mark Pope 1st season at Kentucky:
19-10. Maximum of 4 more losses.
I have known Pope since he played here. I am not a friend but have had conversations with him after he left UK. He has stated in public at other jobs that he would love to be here. He has had interviews about this fact. Anyway, my brother and I was being interviewed at the 97 final four out in front of the arena. It was a local Indy station. We killed it, discussing bleeding blue and what it meant. Pope was walking by, standing off camera. He was pumped just listening. Anyway we talked about the upcoming game and what was next for him after that. He said then in 97 he hoped what ever road, basketball, after basketball he would end up in KENTUCKY. He fell in love with Kentucky while he was here. Not sure why that is hard to understand. Bowie could be anywhere, Macy and so forth. They come back here. GO BIG BLUE!!!
Plus the SEC is way more balanced in the middle this year. Auburn is at the top but 4 through 12 are all NCAA level teams, not all will get in by any means. SEC probably ends up with 10 to 11 teams in NCAA.

We're so better off long term with Pope than anyone else, this hire will be looked back on future years as a great move for Kentucky. Pearl is still, and always will be, a big douchebag. I mean maybe Tennessee fans will want him to come back to coach when Barnes goes? I think even Vol fans want to throw up some in the mouth thinking that, after having Barnes there.

I actually do know him personally and you’re really off base here. Not that it affects his life 0.1% but you really shouldn’t say things about people when you have no clue about them.

But TBH didn't really have a problem with that pregame speech.
He fired his team up and it clearly worked.
He wasn't inaccurate either. They've been the best team in the SEC (and nation IMO) all season long. There's no reason for them to not come out fired up for a game with a chance for an SEC title.

Do the pearl nut huggers realize he lost 20 games his first season at Auburn, another 20 his second season, and another 14 his third season? Seriously. And this was when the sec was not nearly as good as it is now.
