Pathetic game tonight

We were simply terrible and tonight was eye opening. This has been coming for the past couple games though as we have sucked in those games as well. Pope has to get these guys back to playing confident winning basketball. Maybe start with not having Amari (happy feet) trying to initiate offense at the top of the key? Or maybe letting Garrison rot on the bench because the guy is 💩 in a bucket? Just a couple of thoughts.

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe Pope’s offense relies on the big initiating things. And in Pope’s mind, he got the best guy in the portal for his offense in Amari Williams. So yeah, the losses are gonna pile up.

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe Pope’s offense relies on the big initiating things. And in Pope’s mind, he got the best guy in the portal for his offense in Amari Williams. So yeah, the losses are gonna pile up.

I agree about not having Amari not starting the offense 30 feet away- I listen to the UK radio network every game and Goose has said the same thing numerous times- put him underneath the basket and give it to him down low, not 30 feet away from the basket

way too early to scrap the system. besides we have been doing the dump it inside to the center enough in games, we dont have to do it all game . What we need is to get our shooting right, we shoot even 30% from 3 or hit 3 more FT's and either we'd have won or Clemson would have to be trying for a game winning shot at the end. 1 loss , even a 2nd against Gonzaga isnt panic and scrap the entire system time

What you have said in both posts is correct. Since the Duke win, UK has not played very well. It took a bad situation to pull away from Georgia State. Pope's system is based on quality early shots. Walking the ball up does not produce that result. Last night Clemson man handled UK. Williams is no offensive threat & needs to stop thinking he is. He needs to concentrate on rebounding & blocking shots. The offense did not look good last night. Not enough screens, don't think I saw a single back door cut. There were open shots that didn't fall. Hopefully they will against Gonzaga. Coach made few adjustments. He should have tried switching defense a few times just to try & throw Clemson off stride. Brea must have more than 2 or 3 shots per game. A repeat of last night's performance will result in another blow out win by Gonzaga..............the third in a row

I think Pope should abandon his entire offense and create a new one mid-season because Terrapin_Station says so. I feel like we got the short end of the stick with Pope — Barnhart could have just signed you as the coach. You would have a much better offensive scheme and would have selected much better roster additions from the portal. No sarcasm here, I’m genuinely sad that you aren’t the coach!!! 🤡
