He is goofy. But he runs some really good stuff. Louisville is good
Louisville made a good hire in Kelsey, unfortunately. Think they’ll continue to trend upwards with him. Thankfully I feel the same about us with Pope.
He’s done a good job but Clemson is pretty much the only decent team they’ve beaten.
To have this type of season after the Kenny Payne era is like hitting the lottery. Payne was a dumpster fire.
In about 20 hours Louisville fans will be screaming about how they've been disrespected seed-wise.
Kelsey was a solid hire and Louisville was "decent" this year. I'm not sure most realized just how stacked the SEC would be and just how historically putrid the ACC would be. You think that league knows it's imploding in a few years? Give me an alternate universe where our schedules are switched and my goodness. UK probably has Duke's record and Louisville likely has 14 or 15 losses. I mean, they have 7 now.

They’re still a good team. And he still is a very good coach. Louisville is gonna good for awhile now
Louisville made a great hire, unfortunately. The guy can coach and he is even likeable. The rivalry between UK and UL will be strong for years to come with two great hires.
Kelsey was a homerun for Louisville. Which as a college basketball fan; I’m elated to see the rivalry rekindle. Yes that does mean we will have wins and losses depending on the year…but being able to look forward to the UK/UofL game is good for our favorite teams, the state of Ky, and fan bases.
Kelsey was a good hire. I liked Kenny Payne while he was an assistant for us but he wasn’t head coach material. Great assistant coach but not head coach. It’s always easier being the No.2 guy instead of being the No.1 guy in the coaching world.

Kentucky would definitely be the second best team in the ACC.

I was not sold on him when he was hired and I am not sold on him now. He is winning in a horrible conference this year. Yeah, i give him props for getting the program out of dumpster and getting her dolled up for the prom but I am not convinced she is now a "lady." Wake me up when UL is Julia Roberts in "Pretty Woman."

You do realize Pope hasn't won a NCAA game in 9 years right? That'll change tomorrow though, but not sure why you bring up that stat against Kelsey when Pope hadn't done any better in March.

Pope is our coach, Kelsey is UL’s.
Guy seems a classy guy with passion for the game, and a great sense of humor. Tripled the number of wins with pretty much a whole new roster.

Pope has had only two opportunities losing once to Final Four UCLA and his only questionable loss to Duquesne
I don’t really understand valuing a rivalry over and above Kentucky winning. You’re ok with us losing a few to them so that……what, exactly? I know people want the Kentucky Louisville rivalry to compare more favorably to Duke UNC. It never will. That doesn’t bother me in the slightest
Simply because it was no fun at all watching us pummel Kenny Payne’s teams. Oh woopie doo we beat a team that may win 2-3 games…but get a coach that can win games; then our wins mean something.
More years like what it was under Payne, then there wouldn’t even be a rivalry.
Eventually it would have become something similar to the Globetrotters versus the Generals. A complete joke.
Personally, I want to beat them by 50 every game we play them from now on! I’m sure the poster wants that as well. I want to go on a 30 game win streak and make some history. Hahaha. Make them like it and hate us even more. Go Cats only. lol.
I loved beating them and always will. It’s nothing personal against the school or anything, it’s the fans. Everyone of them on their sites hate us and lie every other sentence. Craziness. They’re obsessed and try to say we’re the ones who hate. I love everyone but they sure make it tough. lol. Anyway, I get what you’re trying to say, it’s just they hate us for breathing so I want to win by 50. Have a good one bud.
