For all the talking heads saying Pacman Jones does not deserve to be suspended for what he did to Amari Cooper during yestrday's game.....how ignorant can you be? Since when is ripping someone's helmet off while on the ground and slamming the back of their head into it apart of football? What Adam Jones did is assault out in the everyday public and there is no place for it on the football field ESPECIALLY when you have a history liek Jones does.

Pathetic.

Once a thug, always a thug.....? Guy should get a huge suspension at a minimum. How he didn't get tossed is beyond me. Reprehensible behavior and needs to be dealt with severely by the NFL. Not sure Goodell has the cajones or the backing of the owners to really lay the law down to Pacman, though.

Pacman Jones is sum.

No proof in Deflate-Gate....four game suspension (erased, but still lol)
Video proof of assault on the football field....rumored no suspension.
Video proof of you knocking your woman out on an elevator....2 games.

Goodell is the worst in the business and will be out sooner than later.

i agree that he should get some kind of suspension
but i would not call that "slamming his head"
it looks like he pushed his helmet off, then pushed his head down to scream something at him
i am curious as to what started that whole thing

As touchy as the entire concussion thing is, I wouldn't be shocked (and hope) to hear that Jones gets a rather lengthy suspension and hefty fine. Certainly deserved. If you or I did that to someone we would be hit with an assault charge.

He was awful the entire game. I know there is a hierarchy in football and you want to welcome the new guy to the league, but this is way over the top. I love my bengals, and this will hurt the depth of the secondary, but he needs to go. No reason for this to happen during a football game.

If he does get suspended he can always call up Tom Jurich and Petrino. I hear they need a new life coach for James Quick.

no doubt he should be suspended
but he should not be kicked out of FB because of this

if he really wanted to hurt Cooper, he had him pinned to the ground face up, all he would have had to do was start wailing on him with his fists

It's players actions like this that makes it hard for me to get into the nfl.

I know not all are like that, but the ones like PAC man make up for it.

Coley Harvey who covers the team said there's more to it than what Jones did. Said he saw something Cooper did to initiate it. Not saying Jones is justified but might be more involved than we know.

no doubt there is always more to the story
it will come out eventually

If this happened on the streets it would be jail time. If I did this where I work it would be jail time. Why is the football field any different? It is where he belongs.

Unless he physically harmed Jones there is no excuse to justify what he did. Just because someone insults your momma does not give you the right to lay hands on them and definetly doesn't give you the right to do so without repercussions.

I wondered if something lead to this....but still you can't do that and not have something happen to you.

I am a Bengals fan, BUT that chit is not acceptable.

Yeah, there was absolutely proof. Brady got off on a technicality...no one with a brain thinks he is innocent in reality. I thought the 4 game suspension was a ridiculous length (1-2 games tops) but still. I will agree with the other poster on RG being an idiot as commissioner. The way he let the Patriots off for their blatant cheating in Spygate so easily and destroyed the evidence was absurd.

That said, he gets fired...big deal. The guy is freaking loaded. He gets paid so many millions a year to suck at his job. He is living the dream.

Like I said, don't know all the info yet. Things happen in a game that are not always seen. Just passing along what was said. Take it or leave it

PFF ranked Jones as the #1 corner in the league this week against the run and #12 against the pass. He played extremely well.

As far as the play against Cooper goes, he deserves a fine. Does he deserve a suspension? I think so, and I'm a Bengals fan. You can't allow players to act that way. Sure, something happened that led to that. Doesn't matter though, IMO. You just line up and drill the guy (legally) on the next play.

As for the "kick him out of the league" stuff....LOL. Football is violent. People lose their tempers. Hell, I've seen players swing helmets at other players. No, those guys didn't deserve to be banned from the sport or go to jail. But you have to do something to prevent future behavior.

GBB!!!

If those rules applied to college and pro athletics, there wouldn't be anyone left to play the sports, lol.

There was zero proof linking Brady directly. The report said it was probable that Brady knew...couldn't say 100% sure though because they had no direct proof of video or anyone who witnessed it and came forward. There was no technicality. The NFL shat the bed and went after Brady and the Latriots because they pulled another fast one, but even as an NFL player (or NCAA member as some like to claim can't happen lol) you still have rights and your superiors have to follow the law of a proper and fair trial/judgement. I still say if Memphis had the balls they could have sued and won in court over the Rose fiasco, but that is for another thread.

I'm a Bengals fan, you guys are overreacting. Had this been Ben Rothlisburger slamming a guy, he should be kicked out of the league, he's bigger...

Last year idiot PACMAN called out Nugent for missing a game winning field goal. I twitted him and said I didn't see Nugent calling him out for giving up over 300 yards and 3 TDs in the past 2 games. Provided a link to being a good teammate. No reply.

10,000 text messages on a phone that was mysteriously destroyed tells me that there was something fishy going on in New England.

The Pats are worse than the old Nascar teams, "if you aint cheatin, you aint tryin."

Suspended for how long is the question? any thing less than one half season would not do any good. This is kinda of like ice hockey, they don't want to stop the fighting and cheap shots. keeps turmoil going- fans like it.

Make the penalty severe enough and it will stop. slapping the wrist won't do tghe job.

It can be fishy all you want it to be, but was there any physical proof? Cell phone carriers can go back and print off messages even if the phone was destroyed. If they wanted texts then they could have got them.

No they could not, which is why they were destroyed. The NFL had no power to get access to those text messages. Brady and his lawyers knew this.

And yeah, Brady knew nothing...even though every QB says that they know how much air is in the footballs they have. Give me a break. He must be the dumbest person to ever play QB...yet he has won 4 Super Bowls lol.

Relatively speaking for NFL football that wasn't much as far as contact is concerned. Poor judgement for sure but the chance for injury wasn't much more than a shove on the shoulder on the way back to the huddle.

Too much outrage for too little.

I'm not saying he didn't know. All I am saying is there was ZERO proof. Someone above stated there was 100% proof and they were incorrect. There was no proof therefore the suspension was invalidated. Period.

Cooper throat punched Jones at least once on the way down the field on that play, but he may have got him twice.

Jones should not have done it, but was clearly retaliating.

We can make up excuses all we want but that is just a thug ass piece of shit

Watch the video floating around the Internet. Cooper punched Jones in the throat at least 1 really good shot, and possibly a 2nd time, on that play.

Love how everyone jumps to conclusions and throws out the "thug" word so quickly.

Obviously Jones shouldn't have done what he did, but ask yourself what you would do if someone throat punched you a couple of times.
