Our second half performance against Bama was the worst we have played all season. However, has anyone brought up that the team had to play a very late night game the evening before in a hard fought physical game? It didn't seem exactly fair to me that the turn-around time was limited. Did the team simply run out of gas?

Maybe. Then again Alabama got the double bye and earned that benefit.

And I think when you are as injured as UK was, your probably even more likely to run out of gas. That and when even the guys that did play. Oweh misses a significant portion of the 1st half and Carr as well. Granted we didn't get blown out until the 2nd half but I think that put us out of sync.

That and .........Bama is just a very good team. And was on.

To me, if we are being honest here........and this is to take nothing away from what Mark Pope and UK has done this season, UK was not a top team in the SEC this year.

Auburn was better.
Alabama was better
Florida was better
UT was better.

Over the course of the entire season, those teams were clear cut above. UK IMO was the 5th best team but on a tier lower than those teams. And when the seeding comes out tomorrow, it will bear that out.

I think that’s a good point but at that age I wouldn’t think that much of a turnaround would or could impact the outcome of a game.

We had to play our guts out to beat Ok , was an emotional game . Then face off against a team with superior athletes less than 24 hours later , a far far more experienced team , a team that was well rested , kinda equals a blow out .

Seeding matters.

I don’t care about “course of the season”, UT was not better than UK.

That’s what sucks about being in the 3/6 part of the bracket. If you make it to Sunday you’re playing 3 games in about 40 hours if things are as scheduled.

Another negative with having the final on a Sunday. The Friday night into Saturday semis day games are brutal.

With the Big 12 and Big East least those semi final games are night games.

We ran out of gas, for sure. Injuries made for a shorter bench. Late game takes your legs in the second half. They were fresh.

The same thing happened to Bama today.

That just cannot be it. We have lots of experts here to tell us our players stink and our coach stinks.

Same thing happened to Alabama today because Oats was too stupid and arrogant to finish the game the way he should’ve against us. He could’ve rested some of his guys and took a 10-15 pt win but he wanted to rub our faces in the mud. I even mentioned that while he was doing it.

We had the same advantage over OU, actually. OU was tired, and we had a 10-point lead in the second half.

If it weren’t for the refs, it would have been a solid 10-point win.

I was actually telling someone this yesterday. I think thats why you seen the first half be somewhat competitive and then we just ran out gas after halftime. Alabama got a taste of the same thing yesterday after playing that late game I thing their legs were gone after halftime against Florida and they got smoked too. Now I am not saying that was the only thing leading to the loss, but it for sure contributed to both I think.

Def yes..... Williams was gassed in the first half, but anyone would be. He ran the floor better than I have seen all year. Sprinted, and I mean full out sprinted back on D after every UK miss on our end.
