This is a great point.
Also, lost in all the hoopla was the fact that Kentucky really beat their asses in the second half.
I love that they made the necessary adjustments in the second half. I’m pretty certain that we would have lost that game last night with the old coaching staff. IMOAnd did it with defense. That’s the best part to me, especially after last season was such an utter embarrassment on that side of the ball.
That is a very good point, but we hit 40% as a team 10-25. Might be unrealistic to shoot much better than that every night.…3 pointers Brea and Jackson only made 2 combined. So for people saying if Duke had only hit more 3s….chew on that fact

Good observations !! We will definitely need more movement and screens against the better teams, because we only appear to have two (2) players who can consistently get to the basket against strong defensive pressure off the dribble: Butler and Oweh. We'll have to get the easy buckets off of cuts and great passing. We can certainly do that, I think.Going forward Pope has to be thinking about running more motion and screens to get more open looks for our shooters. At times our offense became stagnant and that’s when we started falling behind. Duke really guarded the three point line well and other teams will try to do the same.
I’d really like to see him work on some zone defense just for Arkansas because we all know Cal teams suck against it.
Great win!!
While I get what you are saying, I watched some of the Kansas/Michigan State game and neither team played half as much defense as Duke did last night. Most teams will not be able to defend us like Duke did. Also, all that energy they expended playing such tight defense was part of the reason they were exhausted at the end of the game.Going forward Pope has to be thinking about running more motion and screens to get more open looks for our shooters. Agreed. Duke is the most athletic team we'll probably face this year. Other teams extending their defense that far will end up getting beat with our passing a lot more, Duke could recover better. And they still got gassed. While I get what you are saying, I watched some of the Kansas/Michigan State game and neither team played half as much defense as Duke did last night. I get what you’re saying also, but when you have guys who struggle to create their own shot you have to rely on other ways to get them open looks. This is what Cal struggled with the last several years when he wasn’t getting the top tier talent. Also if we are wanting to wear teams down motion and fighting through screens makes that happen quicker, especially with our deep bench. While I get what you are saying, I watched some of the Kansas/Michigan State game and neither team played half as much defense as Duke did last night. Brea had the best pass of the game with that quick no lookerRobinson played as well as you can hope someone who is off can play in my book. Continued to try to contribute and be an asset the entire time even when it wasn’t working for him.
Brea has really impressed me. More than a shooter. Maybe not great at all aspects but he works hard and really seems to want to do whatever the team needs.
It's awesome to actually have a coach to make halftime adjustments.....This is a great point.
